Nice going Mike, those massive Ks are starting to pay off now. Not too far off that magic sub 40 as well.<br /><br />30 miniter out of the way Chris so on to the 6K showdown next weekend ? 8193m at 27 SPM, DF on my lucky number <b>106</b> (blabbles he). Good hunting in your attempt, any chance of sharing the nursing support ?<br /><br />Bad luck on the lousy rowing conditions Dwayne. Tends to favour those who have rowed for many years and know a few tricks for handling rough water. Did you meet any guys from Banks Roring Club, Melbourne (my old club when I rowed in the 70's) ? They usually are well represented at each Masters, costs permitting.<br /><br />Martin

Nice result on the 10K wilko, as Martin says, all those metres are paying off and sub-40:00 is in the pipeline.<br /><br /><b>Evesham Golden Mile DVD</b><br />Well, the Evesham Golden Mile DVD is now complete!! (Yeh, I know, about time too!)<br /><br />If anyone is interested in getting a copy, I'm making it available for £3.50 (this incl p&p). Just drop me an email to niallswilliams@yahoo.co.uk if you want a copy and we'll take it from there. Payment methods are limited to Paypal and cheque (or cash at Enfield).<br /><br /><b>Training - best session yet...by far!</b><br />Did my sprint pyramid session last night and have to say it's the best set of results against target that I've managed so far. For those that are interested in the detail, take a look at my Blog <a href='http://www.tritalk.co.uk/forums/view.php?b=69' target='_blank'>here</a>.<br /><br />The set was a 750-750-500-500-250-250-250-250-500-500-750-750 pyramid session and I was able to smash all the target paces and also complete the final 750m set at the target pace of the 250s so well happy .

Had another good session last night. Target was 2x5000m (24-26spm 2:00-2:03 HR capped). Managed to complete both sets at the top end of the pace target while maintaining SR at the lower end:<br /><br />1) 5000m 19:55.5 1:59.6 peak170bpm avg159bpm 24spm<br />2) 5000m 19:51.9 1:59.2 peak191bpm avg169bpm 24spm<br /><br />Even managed a split of 1:57.6 (24spm) for the final 1000m of the last set (that's what sent the HR up to 191bpm though ).<br /><br />Power per stroke is coming along really well so very pleased indeed. Finished the session off with a 10mins (15spm) cooldown just to give us some extra metres.<br /><br />Got a easy 30mins (18-20spm 2:04-2:07) session this morning. I use these sessions to recover so will not be pushing the pace at all.

Nice training sessions Niall. What's the next major goal and when ? A race somewhere, some PBs or the sub 7 2K ? Looks like you are ready for something big soon.<br /><br />Martin <br /><br />PS Godfried, are you out there somewhere? I miss those Taff graphs !

Spoke to coach last week about targets/goals. Like most coaches, I suspect, Eddie's targets are conservative (but achievable) so I'm currently down for sub-7:08 for the 2K at Enfield (25th Sep), sub-7:04 at Newark (29th Oct) and sub-7:00 for BIRC in November. So effectively this means PBing at each of the next three competitions. Which again I should imagine is achievable given my current development progress.<br /><br />Should also mention that I've finally ordered my Taff Attack AIO so will resplendent in it with my team mates at Enfield.

Plans are to row 3 x a week, slow gentle rows, and biking of course when the weather's good. August 25--Sept 2 I'm at Acadia National Park biking and hiking and then getting serious about rowing. I am having a really hard time getting commited to starting again, so that's why I'm posting this. Idon't expect any decent results for quite a while but being on this team really matters to me! So my goal right now is to get consistent again and contribute 30K/week to the team total until 8/25--that will go up to 50K again after Labor Day.<br /><br />It would help to be harrassed!

This session felt like hard work after Saturday and Sunday's sessions so used it properly as a recovery.<br /><br />1-hour of Body Pump tomorrow morning.<br /><br />Carla, you can rely on me to make sure there's plenty of photos from Enfield and I'm sure one or two of me in my AIO will sneak into the pack!!<br />

We've got a new recruit!!<br /><br />Simon Crawley has taken the wise choice and joined our merry band. Simon looks like he'll be contributing a lot of metres to the team (no pressure Simon!) as he's already done a HM and 10K in the last few days! That's just the sort of output we like to see on this team.<br /><br />How are we all doing in putting in that extra 1K-2K cooldown after their session? Team Oarsome have pulled away slightly but we can still catch them.

OK, I'm back!<br />a silly first session back of 30 minutes, starting out very very very slow and finishing just plain slow, but it felt good to get back on. Tomorrow I will have a nice bike ride unless it is raining but will also do a slow slow 30 min. Erging inside in this sticky humidity is NOT as much fun as flying around outside, but the discipline will feel good.<br /><br />I am bike shopping, oh yes, indeed! Just found out my boss is giving me a paid vacation,so there's the money for the bike, since we weren't planning on that! (This was supposed to be just a part time job but it's become full time). I'm looking at a nice medium range Trek somewhere around $1500. Zoom!<br /><br />
