A sub7 program will be pp like.
I believe I saw an announcement some time ago regarding a indoor rowing competition that would test out MWT next year, but do not remember which one.
At the end of a training week I'm now around 89kg in the morning, but use the weekends to eat my weight up again so I start a new week at 91kg

The SUB7 program might be a PP clone but it is still a change that is welcome. I can do max 5 sessions(and try to limit them to max 1 hour) of rowing per week so I guess there are limitations to what kind of programs I can use. Currently rowing about 50K's a week.
Could be true, but in rowing itself lightweight 72kg boat and 75 in winter (erging), and no middleweight.

You surely need to eat enough, but weight itself is not holding you down, lightweight wr is 5.56. And years ago a guy pulled 6.02 at 69 kg.

You are doing fine atm, I only try to tell you, you could do very well. But for that extra time is needed. If you can,t train more you can,t. Enjoy and learn. See how you end up this winter and after that you could always see what you can do. This is not the time to make big changes. You improve still rapidly, so it works, these are the newby early gains. But gains are gains!

Been away for a while on vacation, but thought I'd let you guys know I got a new 5K PB.

1000m 3:28.4 (1:44.2) @30spm
2000m 3:30.0 (1:45.0) @29spm
3000m 3:31.7 (1:45.8) @29spm
4000m 3:31.4 (1:45.7) @30spm
5000m 3:26.1 (1:43.0) @31spm

Ending time was 17:27.6 (1:44.7) @29spm. Was a miserable humid day, so not very good for breaking personal records. I think that I have a sub 1:44 in me this season if I get around to doing another!

You definitely have Bill. Probably more of a mental obstacle than a fitness issue. The humidity must have had a notable effect, it would have killed me

@lwtguy - Very impressive 5K time :) I'm pretty sure you will go sub 1:44 avg pace on your next try
@kerosene - Very nice improvements with good pacing :)

2K TT this morning. Empty stomach, only water(note to myself; never try this again in the morning and on an empty stomach  )
Struggled getting into the race pace in the beginning and knew I had started too fast when I saw estimated finish around 6:10-6:12.
Settled down to the target pace 1:34.5 and kept it to the finish. An improvement of 6.2 seconds from my previous PB.

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
6:17.0 2,000m 1:34.2 418 1737 36

Great work marius - the fact you took 6s off probably means even with current form there is more there. Carbs early morning not working for you? Should do.

Kerosene, really well done. You've made some big improvements. It seems to me that you're suited to long distances if that felt good. Not much more and you'll be doing a HM. Is that an option for you?

Marius, 6.2 secs faster from an already very fast time?!!? Blimey, slow down you're making us look lazy  Seriously that is very impressive especially if it didn't feel right to start with.

Well done.

Bill nice 5k, good work also. Good benchmark

@Dangerscouse - Thanks :) I'm not that fast :lol:

@hjs - Thanks :) Was hoping for 6:15-6:16 but I'm glad I went with my plan of 1:34.5. It was like hitting a wall after around 1400m, maybe better if done later on the day with some fuel in the body. I knew my honeymoon days where over when I ran the PP pyramid session last week. 2K and 5K will be very hard to improve from now on. 6K and 30' should still have some "easy" improvements.

Again I hate the 2K TT feeling, much better with a hard 5K

I think the 5k is the worse, the only reason the 2k felt so though us because this one you really rowed 100%, those other you could still speed up. Once you really have to dig deep and can,t speed up anymore it feels the most bad.

A very hard 1k is also super though. Again, all about pacing.
