Rep Question

Post by DSB » September 6th, 2017, 4:50 am

Trying to improve my 5k time. What would deliver me better improvement:

3x2k 5R at 1:44.9 pace (have done this)
or 4x2k 5R at 1:46.3 pace.

I find the 4th rep always gets me, so is it better to get more metres under the belt at a quick temp or go for max on 3 reps. Thoughts?

Volume helps. Also not 2k reps, also 1500 and 2500 reps, and ofcourse longer aerobic sessions.

I always find repeat 1k reps with 1 min recovery at 5k target pace are good. Start at 6 reps and work up to 8.
