I was also going to do the IRL challenges again this year if that helps with getting a boat together.

Sign up John and we will start counting -- we need 8 every month to be competitive and can have 10 in the team so we will see how we go - we have until the end of the month (Sept) to get thereJohnAd wrote:I was also going to do the IRL challenges again this year if that helps with getting a boat together.
Just managed 2 more CTC - young brendanh finally got around to it and I ambushed a session from a young lady at the gym tonight =>> 11 BOATS ARE IN!!

Think I've found where you all hide now.
Final effort at CTC this month, but training has been interrupted. Not happy with my time - but I'm never happy sprinting. I just could not get my pace down, but technique was better, stroke rate was lower, and 0.9 seconds off will have to do. For now.
Going to have to try to keep in touch with you guys now.
6k in September is a much nicer distance.

Keen to do 200m AND 6k? A good allrounder is always an asset, Mrs. B. Welcome.

Hi Margaret/Mrs B - a puzzle solved and welcome - it is always nice to know a bit about a poster for the team when they mysteriously appear! Tell us a little bit about where you are in the world etc?? I suspect you are in a minority if you prefer 6k to 200m though - I am pretty sure we will not see the numbers for August again for a long time (870+!!) Great to have you on boardMrs B wrote:Think I've found where you all hide now.

Re: Forum Flyers
Posted my 4 minute row on the IRL website.
Couple of questions:
1-I see my entry for the High Flyers team ranking but not the individual ranking. Does that data get posted later?
2-Are we able to make multiple entries for each event like in the CTC?

1) It does look like the age categories are not active yet although the general one is as you appear there in Best Man list as well as in the team oneIMHester wrote:Posted my 4 minute row on the IRL website.

We will need to remove the vegan flyer and macroth from our list -- I doubt if Ewen is up for the distance stuff now.
2) yes enter as many updates as you like each month

Re: Forum Flyers
Last season I skipped the IRL challenge but this season I want to participate again. Noticed that the High Flyers already have 11 registrations. Forum Flounderers have less. But I have the idea some of the registrations are legacy of previous seasons. Do both teams participate? If not, can I register for High Flyers?

Re: Forum Flyers
Yes you should sign up Rolf - the flounderers were only viable for year one so last year we only had the High Flyers (who had won the whole thing in the first year). Best to sign as a High Flyer as we will be lucky to get 8-10 up as it is but it is looking more promising now. I like the discipline of being "forced" to do at least one hard hit out each month.Rolf_Boers wrote:Last season I skipped the IRL challenge but this season I want to participate again. I will contact Sebastian to see if we can remove them because otherwise we might have to get them to do it themselves (I think I have contact details for both somewhere) - neither did the challenges last season.

Re: Forum Flyers
Morning Team,
Just popping by to say hello. Sorry I have been a bit quiet and I must admit that my rowing has slipped to 2 - 3 times a week and has been of the plodding variety. I feel the need to motivate myself and start improving and putting a bit more effort in. I will enter a 6K into the CTC later this week and hope to improve it a bit by the end of the month.
Good to see lots of new names!
Cheers for now,
Debbie

Evening Debbie good to see you at it still. It is good to see some new names and our 11 boats was encouraging but probably won't be matched this time but here is hoping.debinapril wrote:Morning Team, Just popping by to say hello. had a second go at the CTC tonight - couldn't resist getting under my buddy mark's after seeing it on the PM at the gym - I suspect he will have to go again as he hates it when I am ahead of him.
6k => 22:58.0 @1:54.8 (got him by 5")
