Like the idea, don't like the placement of the flywheel. I sweat buckets and would have the flywheel covered in salt and rust in a couple of weeks of use.

Yeah dripping sweat would cause havoc over time on there. A good idea would have been to place the flywheel in front of the handle bars.

Like that issue with the erg, where they never water tight sealed the plastic capping at the end of the monorail... sweat can run down the rail into there and rot the heck out of it.

This said, i do like this BikeErg. Maybe later i might get myself one, as i always struggle getting my backside outdoors often enough on the MB.

My immediate thought is this is a product aimed at spin classes at the gyms.

The real obvious benefit is you can see how hard everyone is ACTUALLY working, unlike the friction resistance or magnetic resistance machines currently.

Put 16 of these in a room and then run a cycling version of RowPro on a massive LCD screen and really get serious for placings in the spin class !!!

Surely its now finally time for Concept 2 to develop a fitness test in the Firmware ?

The skierg was folded into the ctc with almost no fuss because average skierg times leave the elite of the sit-down chainpullers at the top of the standings. (Note the first full boat of segregated skiergers is currently eighth in the monthly standings.). I foresee a bit of oppo to incorporating the seated chainspinners. Tri-Fanlon anyone?

The Ski-Erg cannot be compared, we have a couple of people on RowPro using them online and they are much slower when the same person alternates between the rower and the ski. The Bike is potentially faster but it would depend on your build.

It looks well built, these things need to be rock solid and stable. Hopefully Concept 2 designed it with a common thread for the pedals in the cranks so people that are serious can switch over to clip-ons and use their bike shoes.

Ski is not that much slower, most people don,t train much on them.
Expect the bike to be much faster, no recovery fase so you can apply power the whole time, which is much more efficient.
Drag will be also be just like gears.

That will only keep the sweat off the cage. It will still run down the side where it mounts to the frame.

Thats what i reckon.. hence my earlier "hmmm" response.

C breeze doesn't cover the whole portion of the flywheel cage either so sweat would still get in anyway.

That will only keep the sweat off the cage. It will still run down the side where it mounts to the frame.

I'm suppose to take delivery of my bike erg this Month. When I get it I will give a update. Until then I don't understand how you can come to a conclusion without trying or seeing it first.
