Sounds totally fake, because the monitor on those moving water things isn't in any way comparable to the monitor on the C2 standard moving air rower.DavidA wrote:Sounds good.MattSinclair wrote:FYI : ROWING ON A WATERROWER.

He's not claiming any equality with the C2...you obviously missed the entire recent thread where he heard all about the differences between the two rowers.Citroen wrote:Sounds totally fake, because the monitor on those moving water things isn't in any way comparable to the monitor on the C2 standard moving air rower.DavidA wrote:Sounds good.MattSinclair wrote:FYI : ROWING ON A WATERROWER.

This would be the place to post about what you've done on a water rower rather than on here because, as mentioned, there is no comparison between the two.Citroen wrote:Sounds totally fake, because the monitor on those moving water things isn't in any way comparable to the monitor on the C2 standard moving air rower.DavidA wrote:Sounds good.MattSinclair wrote:FYI : ROWING ON A WATERROWER.

Yeah it will still get you fit if working hard on it for sure. Some of those waterrowers cost more than C2's! You should find a gym with a C2 and try it out, so you can experience the difference. Maybe after that you may prefer the C2 and get oneMattSinclair wrote:HAHA awrite mate i'll get my coat!!!!Anth_F wrote:NO, you can't come in here if you're not rowing on a C2 pffttt.. waterrowers not even anywhere near the same thing.![]()
Just messingBut waterrower times are far more generous than times on a C2 for the same efforts
I've removed my Ranked times so that i'm not messing with all the C2 times. Thanks for the heads up.
The water rower will still hopefully give me a beast workout and get me fit and healthy.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
I'd put the splits but when I row on the erg with a PM3 monitor, I just take the top-line figures and note them in my phone. Occasionally I get to erg on a PM5 I use the ErgData app so get a verified session and so I could put in full splits etc., otherwise it is too much hassle to note them all.paul45 wrote:It would also be nice if people would put in (all) splits and not just time and spm ave.
It would show how hard one worked whether you had more to give or/and you gave your all.
It also shows the trained eye one actually did it, so easy just to write willy nilly.
Maybe not so important on everyday training but yes on a PB at least.
Not an order but would be nice, a PB one is on a high and wants to share, doesn't take long
to put splits, spm throughout, then average time/spm.

Anyway, I got a 30min PB today - 7702m. I had been wanting to get over 7700m for a while, but didn't think I was going to make it until Autumn as it has been so warm here in Berlin. However this week it has been a little cooler and at the start of the week I managed to do a 10500m piece in one go (BPP W16; recently I have been taking breaks for water) so thought I would try to get the 30min piece fairly high. I didn't think I would manage to break 7700m but luckily someone was pushing fairly hard on the erg next to me for most of my session and that always gives me a boost.
It took so much effort to get over 7700m, I can't imagine ever getting to 7800m, let alone 8000m.

Thanks for the interest.paul45 wrote:Example, a beautiful 7k done by Anth @ an ave of r20.
Now say someone is claiming a 30r20 PB, if you look at Anths first 3 splits they read r21, huge difference
r20 and r21, a true 30r20 all splits must be r20.
Great row Anth by the way, only using your row as an example![]()

Btw you're incorrect on the splits. Only 1 split for the entire piece was 21r!!!

Tight lines, Paul, you let one spit the hook--the feller equipped with the "trained eye" for the plausible detail in row reports. This superior knowledge of plausible supporting evidence might enable one to spin one's very own big fish yarn, might it not? I'm reminded of the words of the Righteous Angler to his Last True Blue Friend:paul45 wrote:It would also be nice if people would put in (all) splits and not just time and spm ave.

Notice some folks have adopted this new-fangled tackle for capturing the essence (and the detail) of those unforgettable lunkers: attached reports from RowPro, ErgData, Rowsandall, Strava and of course the digital camera. Will you be sticking to tedious keyboard transcription? Could place you directly in the category of the suspect. Very slippery slope for all of us.

BTW - nice PB DNA! I hear you about the leap to 8k. It would look real nice on the signature line though. One day.

Anthony - what our friend doesn't understand is that if you had set up the row to have splits every 2K it would have averaged in. On row pro at least you can determine the split lengths.

Very nice. You should be happy with that piece as it is no easy.

Actually as all can see this was a thirty minute r20 not a 7k.

30r20 throughout PB means r20 not r21 period.
Also 6 x 5' splits on a free rate 30 takes 2 minutes tops to jot down.
Also free rate hard distances hurts hard, 5000m straight means one puts up 5000m on the monitor
not split up with 0 rest or monitors showing last stroke, list is endless.
