Carla ...cool... 2k time.... but I think if you managed to up your spm to28 you would be sub 7.45 easy.. my race pace is 28-29 and 1.55 and I think you are just as strong as me if not stronger .......you have less weight to drag up and down the rail .... although it would appear I am losing weight ... I am not snacking as there is nothing in the cupboards just fruit and veggies and when I am at work someone is always going to the canteen or the goodie machine.

Hey Carole!

You're a great sport, I hope it's fun for you to read the forum and keep excited about rowing so you can jump right back on as soon as your pretty cast is off!

I rowed that 2K mostly at 10 MPS, no straps. Next time I do one I'll try rowing "free" , trade a little rate for pace, and see how it comes. My ancient PB of 7:48.?? was done after I'd been rowing about 2 months and at whatever stroke rate felt good.

'Course now I'm sort of chicken to try another one.....whimper whimper

I don't know why you think I have less weight to drag up and down. I classify as a heavyweight guy right now (only about 2 lbs to go to make a guy's lightweight, though!) and you don't look like you weigh more than 165--170 in your picture.

Carla
Anyway computer is back again and I had all those pages to read. Sorry about the leg Carole, was Sir Pirate near when it happened???
I would like to introduce a new member of Taff Attack, .....Mike Z Jr......jumping in with 104,000 new TAff Meters, Ahhh Child labor works welll, right Carla. Just imagine when little speedy turns four he will be up there to I hope
Well back to work for me glad to have access to internet again, without posting on other peoples computers.

Welcome ZJ. I am new like you. I havent been involved much in the banter as I dont know what I am doing with the rowing properley yet. my brother the chippy is starting to help me, and I did have acrack at the 10,000m yesterday and did 40.33, I must admit that was as hard as i could have tried at this stage in the game, but I think I did a good effort. Anyway good luck and happy new year to you all.
PORKY
noswaith dda, nosda

Welcome ZJ, those meters will be very usefu staying ahead of MIT.

Porky- well done with the 10k. Great effort!

Carla - Nice 2k. Looks like a new 2k PB looming?

I'm always a bit wary of doing a flat-out 2k as they hurt like hell! Did my first one in ages last week though and took 11 secs off my time for a new PB of 6:43.7

Mixed news from the Bat Cave,Sue has the dreaded lurgi, hence the lack of metres. We did climb the Blorenge on Sunday morning, H.R.'S 185/183 respectively at max. as we got near the top of the mountain!I am following a RowPro prog.on the erg that Bore Da set out for me, Sue follows the same when she's not suffering from the above!
Rickster put me through the mangle last night on our weekly squash training sess. Sue and I are off to Cardiff on Sat to watch him play in the Welsh closed champs. Ricky, Hollie, Sue and I climbed the Sugar Loaf on New Years day and on the way home had a pint in the Skirrid Inn arguably one of the oldest pubs in G.B.
Speedy, your Welsh speak needs a little bit of fine tuning, in place of "heck" you say " whats the crack boy's,is everything tidy"
Nos da, cadwch fynd bois

I haven't changed the weight on my signature for a while- it's more like 80kgs now though. Too much Christmas cheer, I think.

Well done on the new PB, Chipppy

Jim
