New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Hey there mumbles,
I'm quickly closing in on 36. Time flies, even faster now that there's a kid kicking around! I'm somewhere in the high 150's (5'8") but I don't weigh in very often.
I suspect like some others in these forums I've taken up rowing as a subsitute for running. That was a short career, so to speak, with a marathon, a couple half's a 30k and a number of 10ks thrown in for fun. With running, I always felt beat up afterwards, but with the rowing, none of that, and I can just roll out of bed and get on the D model (which I've had for about a year, and have really not started to use consistently until this March ). It really is an all weather workout!
Cheers,
Sean

Rowed the first 10k in ages.
Pretended to be an easy row during lunch break, but ended up not being that easy, with PB of 38:02,1
Anyway the feeling was that I could do much better...
Let's see when I'll give it another try.

Hey thanks! Really, though, all a matter of lots of training. Good to have a training partner, too. In my case that was my trusty Labrador "Moxie".mumbles wrote:

Also good to have someone to run the race with, who in this case was my brother who's run a number of marathons and ultramarathons (distances over 26.2 miles...commonly 50k, 100k and 100 miles. Makes mre tired just thinking about crewing one of those races.
I think that is the only bit I miss about running and with Moxie getting on in age that is okay. Who knows maybe I'll get another D model and some rails and be good to go!
Best,
Sean
Congrats, Citroën:Citroen wrote:Rowed a hard 5K.
New PB 18:41.7 (-8.0 secs)
Nearly refluxed my evening meal after that one.
You got me on the 5k and on the 10k, that puts me under pressure. Now I will to get rid of about 13 kg and then row a hard 5k and another 10k
At least, during the HORR Polaco and me purchased 2 packs Shredded Wheat for the SW-challenge. I feel I will be able to beat you with tese
Keep it on!

IMO you can go under 18:30 based on your recent 10K.
10K time ~ (5k time) x 2 + 1:00. That rule works well for running and has been quite accurate at predicting my 10k erg times based on my 5k.

Francois, interesting formula. Of course if you follow that logic then the sub 18:30 sub 7 formula comes into play so Dougie proves that as he has gone Sub 7 already. So 18:30 5k is nailed on Dougie
Nice 60' Francois. That is a tremendous effort relative to say your 2K time and in relation to my sub 15600 60' best.
Tom, 2 nice records in one effort. well done. Sub 90 is the big target I assume.
