Also trying to do my part, I convinced a female to give it a try. Not sure if she will stick with it or even try again this month, but hopefully, it helps float a boat after only floating 4 last month.
Nice work, don,t overly count, in the end its the rowing that counts most :D

Allen, lots left on the last 500, so the 1k can be quicker  don,t need so much drag.

Nailed the rates on my second attempt, just need to push harder now and try and maintain rate control.

I didn't like the look of this CTC at first but now it seems somehow fun.

I'm probably not doing it hard enough - I'm sure it's not supposed to be fun :P

Slacker wrote:I may have a go at this tomorrow. Are you guys figuring out your target pace and then calculating a target number of strokes or just watching the PM and counting the number of strokes that you miss according to the monitor?

Does the PM round everything down? For example an actual 21.9 spm average (total strokes / time) is shown as 21 on the final results?
I've done some long intervals with ErgData counting the strokes. It does proper rounding, and it rounds up. 21.50 through 22.49 will all count as 22. (Added: it does the truncation when averaging across intervals or splits.)

Did a 30min today, now I wished I'd set it for 10k. Clocked 8007m (1m52.4).
Next time maybe.

Nice 8k.

Not rowed much myself, back is not good, skierged more. Gave the ctc a try. Was a tough one, have enough strenght, but much less rowing fitness, or general fitness in that matter.

500 138.6/22 1k 138.5/26 500 135.4/30 6:31.6/26

From halfway the 1k is was a struggle. Last rep was nasty, no energy left to use full strokes.

Nice one Henry. 6m31 is very good and should get the team up a few places.

One more go with a bit less intense focus on strokes. Being more relaxed let me drop about 7 seconds off my previous attempt. I think the first interval is the hardest for me to balance rate and pace, but I can mostly just row for the other 2. I'm on travel for the rest of the month so I think that is my final try. 7:36.1 no penalties. I'll take it.

Nicely done.

Also no one from me again. Really not in good place, body hurting shoulders/back. Need recovery...

Sorry to hear that. I hope you aren't down for too long. It sucks to be away from what we want to do no matter what the reason.

Look in the mirror Henry - you are an old man now too!! I see an absolute chick magnet looking back from my mirror!
Look after your back though.

had a go at the CTC tonite but mainly to nurse newby Lana through as it is quite technical if you are not familiar.
Mine was 7:10 (1:49, 1:49, 1:43) reflects my current state of (un)fitness but could get close to 7:00 hopefully next week
(Lana's was 11:02 - she had never done sr22 before so will work on I)

Fully agree Lindsay, from late 20 ies on I have found myself an old man, you will never ever hear me say something else.
And not just old, but also cripple  in all sorts of ways. And I don,t "feel" any different, and chicks, almost forgot what those are :P

Back is crap, not even thinking about touching the rower.

Ctc is relative easy this time, short and the rate makes it a bit easier.

I had a go at the ctc, only to not miss this months challenge. It's 30+ deg.C in my apartment and I Just finished a beer, less than ideal circumstances.
Managed a 7:07.5, the first interval is hard to pull properly.
Signed: a profusely sweating rower.
