Hello!
22, Male , 145 lbs, 6' 0"
I hit a 7:22 for a 2k test in march (on an erg); just came back from ACRA (American collegiate rowing association), where my novice boat rowed a 6:47 2k. I know these times are not comparable given one is on an erg and one is on an 8 person boat in the elements, just wanted to mention since it might be relevant
I just wanted your guys' input as to what i could do to drop my 2k time; i'm looking to drop as much as realistically possible. I have till August 28th; any advice (diet, exercise regiment etc.) would be very much appreciated
Need advice
Re: Need advice
There are a ton of threads dedicated to this exact topic on this forum. I would search around for some of those. I'd suggest adding in a lifting routine if you're serious as being 145lbs on a college team is a big disadvantage.
I'd also recommend trying to join a rowing club over the summer and get some experience with sculling. This will help to improve your boat moving skills on the water.
