Whoop, whoop and way to get the logcard issue resolved! Congratulations, Doug G, on achieving a HALF MARATHON - you've put another notch in the Lunie milestone post for the Global Challenge! We wish you many, MANY more successes!

Steve, you can manually enter your piece and get a verification code for it, if you, on the meter highlight your piece, then go to the right side arrow key that doesn't have have any up or down motion indicator next to it and click it twice, it will then give you a 16 digit verification code that you can enter in manually, then you can use that for ranking. I still have the pm3, I don't think it's different for other meters. I am having a similar problem in that my reformatted card won't load to my logbook, and I can't get my 1/2 from yesterday to upload, and I can't get the verification code to work because in the process of trying to get the card to load I updated the time, which was 10 min. off, therefore the time doesn't match the piece so it won't accept the verification code. Happy new erging year to all.
I feel your pain! Between card reader failures, and reformatted cards that were willful in their ability to work or not work, I switched over to the Erg Data app ... and went ahead with the PM5. The connection kit for phone may be the least stressful resolution, but I would encourage you to call Concept2 and talk with their people about the issues. I found them to be quite helpful - although sometimes the answer wasn't the one I was hoping for in terms of fixing the issue. I have a PM3 monitor that works if anyone needs it. My primary issue was the card reader.

There may be some end of year new year beginning issues and this is why there are some problems right now. I think I heard of this sort of thing last year too. C2 can let you know or run a fix on your account. Best not to mess around until you talk with them. I made that mistake a
while back.

I can't imagine a full moon on a skierg. Wow! Way to go to all that have their moons hanging for all to see.

Keep on rock'n
Thanks much! The beginning year bugs worked themselves out and skierg marathon accepted. Thor, I was having a harder time imagining a marathon on the skierg too. There will probably be future rower marathons, just said to self if I do it once, it's off the books. Slower on the skierg but I'm not breaking any record books on anything anyway, so maybe a mix of stubbornness (and some would say a flunked IQ test :D ).

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 5.2.17

Post by Kona2 » May 3rd, 2017, 3:23 pm

We are edging ever so close to our FIRST ONE Million Team Meters. I feel sure that we will arrive there later today! Excellent progress!

Was attending a sustainable transportation summit this AM, but did capture the numbers available prior. One of the biggie topics for our state and many of its municipalities right now is that of e-bikes. There were several suppliers present this AM - offering up free test rides. Not many takers as we'd had a bit of hail and tons of rain this AM. The e-bikes are topics for the lawmakers as communities struggle with whether to allow them or how to regulate them on streets, bikeways - whether to allow pedal assist only or full out usage. I tried one out for the day on Catalina Island last year (no way the folks I was with would have managed the hills without a pedal assist) and found these bikes to be very fun. Certainly opens up the vistas for those who want the feeling of the freedom of bikes without necessarily having to do all the sweat. Pretty good option for some who otherwise could not get out there (those with bad backs especially seem to benefit). Interesting stuff.

Great to hear a soundbite from Ron! The force is indeed with us today as we celebrate our first ONE Million team meters of the 2018 season!

Image Moon Fever is sweeping through the Lunies, and it is ever so hard to resist its pull. Andrew has a particularly tough case of it, and has thrown down a half marathon and then three full marathons...leading the Lunie herd and all of Concept2 erging universe in this effort. Pssst - Andrew - you don't have to do a full marathon every single day of the Challenge to complete it. :D Well done by all our finishers!

I've got a bad case of moon fever, as you say. So I won't try to do a full marathon every single day of the Challenge to complete it. I've already go bad chaffing in places I would not wish on my worst enemy, and I'm wearing an old volleyball kneepad to cover the graze I got from rubbing my leg against the Concept2 rail (bad technique I know, but gratifying to be able to finally find a use for something my wife has been trying to get me to throw out for the last 20 years). And I have finished the final season of How I met Your Mother, which has entertained me through many kms.

But I am going to try to do at least a half marathon daily for the duration of the challenge; its a big ask, but after all,one definition of lunatic is an extremely foolish or eccentric person :D

Great erging by our 42 teammates is getting us to the 1.5 MM team meter milestone today!

Day 5 of 15....moon fever !! Plug into your Tom Petty Full Moon Fever album and erg away!

Dig deep! We've all heard this phrase before...especially when trying to complete a tough task. And if you've played volleyball, you know that volleyball diggers are the ones who keep the ball from hitting the floor....Andrew's use of volleyball kneepads while rowing is the first time I've heard of this cross sport reference to rowing and digging! Something new and a FIRST EVER.

Image 10,000 m

A few years ago, I was pretty excited to knock a bunch of minutes off my 10K time when I was at lower altitude in Tucson. Up until today, I hadn't even come close to that time. I thought maybe it was just an altitude thing...but no. I knocked three minutes off my best time of last year for 10,000 m this morning, and today's time included a quick jump up from the rowing machine to click to the next half of the audiobook.

Keith's introduction to the nonathlon was an enlightening one for me. I used to joke that unlike bicycling, there was no coasting in rowing. Well, there is sort of as I have noted. I just wasn't pushing myself as hard or working at interval training or anything like the ways that you know you coulda shoulda if you're trying to get any better. There are a few British rabbits out there with targets that I see, and I think I want to get to be as fast as they are in a couple of events this year. Heck, there's even a gal in Englewood, a suburb here, that beat me out for full marathon. Hmphf.

All meters are still good. I will always believe that. But some of them can make you better than others. Hahaha...in more meanings than one. Go figure.
