EIGHT Million Lifetime Meters!
Whoop, whoop and way to go! Congratulations, Mark, on achieving EIGHT million lifetime meters! We wish you many, MANY more! (You'll have that 10 million meter sweatshirt just in time for Fall at this rate!)

Ah, the addictiveness of sports and exercise! The lure of that just one more milestone! Now that Keith has introduced us to a whole 'nother facet of milestones with the nonathalon, I've gone through my logbook...noting with some dismay that most of my faster times were not last week or even last month. No. They were almost 8 or 9 months ago when I was rowing less. Yikes. Remember that there are no junk meters in my book, but there are surely times where one coasts (as much as one can on a rowing machine) vs puts forth focused effort. Still, all I would have to do to finish the nonathalon is a 500 m, 1000 m, 6K and 60 minute piece. I can do that before the erging year times out. Perhaps what is more important is that looking at the data has brought me face to face with how I'm going about this particular exercise. It's like getting a glimpse of the future...do with it what you will.

One further thought. Take a look at your total hours of erging in your logbook. From my manufacturing life, I'm well acquainted with the number 168 being the number of hours in a week. How many weeks or parts of weeks have you dedicated to erg time?! And that's not allowing for sleep time...I bet I've spent three percent of my awake time on the erg (that's not so much looked at it that way!). It's when I add in the stats time that the percentage goes skyrocketing...so thank you all for being a good part of my life (in many ways!). Hahahaha.

K2 Tried to log in to nonathlon to admire your progress but got confronted with:

If you are the registrant and want to renew the domain name, please contact your registration service provider without delay.
Oops, I am sure it will be sorted as soon as someone who can contact them without using the website tells them, maybe Citroen who I think is a moderator on here and commented the other day will know how.

I ran into the same thing - and today shows an "Oops - site not available." One hopes that they're getting ready for the 2018 season....I don't think I broke the site, but there is an odd coincidence of logging in and then finding it has disappeared off the virtual face of the galaxy. I had input all ten of the events - and, following their rulesets, I had pro-rated some of the distances that were below 10K (using a pro-rated 10K value). I was in the process of rowing some of the shorter pieces so that I would have a real number for them. My total at the time I last input items as somewhere in the 7300 points. Not stellar, but again - that's where you benefit from rowing the specific vs pro-rating. I doubt that I would ever come close to the target times suggested for some of the sprints. Just isn't going to happen. I was number 119 on the ranking list after getting the marathon and bonus points.tobyj1 wrote:K2 Tried to log in to nonathlon to admire your progress but got confronted with:

Additionally, I did hear back from K C at Concept2. Their recommendation is that you have a second person stay with the rowing machine during a break to keep the display active or "awake" during a marathon row.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Thanks for the information from C2, would that I had a friend like that.
I have actually hit a bigger problem in that the gym are not too keen on someone hogging one of their two machines, no problem if I am sat on it but if someone wants to jump in they will not stop them and no I can't remove the monitor.
the rower is not the most popular piece of kit but gets used as a warm up (as they describe it) by the weights guys, lot of grunting, lot of chain clatter, 40 seconds max.
The gym seems to have a bit of C2 schizophrenia, can't understand why they don't get used more but won't encourage participation in any of the challenges. Not complaining as it usually means I walk straight on or have a couple of minutes wait at worst.
sadly the apartment I now live in will not accommodate a rower -unless some furniture goes- but my wife might follow it! My last marathon was when I lived in a house with a C2 in the garage.
I think the nonathlon is probably just a glitch, it is run by volunteers and they don't charge so probably just got overlooked, shame it has happened in the final week.
