Marathon?? Anyone attempting it.

Taking part in one of Concept2's individual challenges? This is the place to talk about it.

As with many things a lot is acclimatisation...
More time you spend in the seat, the easier it becomes

There is a big difference however between completing a FM and completing a fast FM.

Completely agree! Many people run marathons, but very few can do it competitively. For some people just completing a marathon is a big accomplishment, because I don't foresee myself ever completing a "fast FM". Now if I could complete a FM at 2:13 avg pace that would be pretty stinking awesome.

What do you consider fast?

What do you consider fast?
Average HR @ 90% max, would indicate that I was giving it all... Pace varies according to the individual (age/fitness level/body build)
For myself I would consider anything under 2:50 as reasonably fast. 2:45 fast, 2:40 'yee gods pass the iron lung' fast...

Pretty keen to put down my first HM this Monday, Knocked together a 10km in 41mins the other day at a steady pace of 2.03 so would be keen to see what i could deliver over a H/M.

Pretty pumped that I just finished my first ever half marathon :D

The farthest I have gone before was a 10k, so this was a big jump for me. Now I just got to focus on getting a half decent time

Next year I'll hope to do a FM.
I bought my concept D a month ago.
Today I did a HM, non stop in 1:41:00.6 Pace 2:23.6
Feeling better as expected.
I'm 65+ HW and have bad kneecaps.

I really enjoyed rowing the Marathon distance! My biggest tip is tape your fingers! I didnt do it when I rowed my Marathon until it was too late to help much however when I rowed the 100k distance I taped my fingers from the start and they felt better than my Marathon!
