I thought I'd look up this day in history, and it seemed my choices went from bad to worse. Oh well, here goes. On this day in 1865, Abraham Lincoln was shot (dying the next day). Although an assassination is not the most pleasant of topics, I thought I'd take this opportunity to look up some unusual tidbits about Abraham Lincoln. For instance, while I do remember stories about Lincoln wrestling as a youth, and I'm pretty sure I had my own copy of that Classics Illustrated, I did not know that Lincoln was in the Wrestling Hall of Fame. And I did not know that Lincoln held a patent. But, since this was for the forum, what I was really looking for was a connection to rowing. And I found it: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Stor ... he_Boatman. While the story could maybe be considered a bit too colorful and folksy, it seems there are at least a few grains of truth in it. So, for this morning's row, I piled some corn and pork onto the erg, and off I went.

Whoop, whoop and whoa....doesn't the full moon make us even Lunier? It was a slog...interrupted a few times by pups wondering what I was doing with all that rowing in the middle of their days/dog naps. Half the battle is thinking you can get it done! The TWO million meters is a welcome additional "prize"...

There is just not enough to be said about the merits of stretching after exercise.
But in a surprising recent development, experts are now recommending the use of a variant of this medieval torture device to insure the most complete stretch following an erg session. Meet the experts...

Forget being stretched on the rack ... the most dastardly torture is hearing the pattering of little sheep hooves and the occasional bleats of Shaun closing the meters gap! Eek. I've been motivated to double-up my workouts, after missing a day! Keep pushing, and Go, Shaun, goooo ...
