A marathon is something I will never attempt.
On the other end of the scale in August I tied a PB from 2009 in the 500 m at 1:35.9 on a dynamic erg (60 YO LWT). My previous best effort was in 2009 on a static erg and I don't feel too bad about losing sprint capacity over 8 years. Sunday I tried it again on the dynamic and achieved a 1:36.1. Close but I didn't quite equal my August effort. 100 m splits were fairly even and ranged from 1:33 to 1:37.5 for the last 100 m. All my training this year has been 2k focused. This weekend I go for a 1k TT and one more effort at 2k before the end of the erg year.

My first post has to about a PB right?
Me: male, 64 years old, 160lbs
Got into the C2 machine about 2 years ago at the local YMCA, had fun as part of an overall fitness program. I rowed a 20:39 5k that fall which is not a bad effort at my age and weight. Last summer I finished up a medium effort session and collapsed in the gym with a full cardiac arrest. "Mostly dead" as they say. I had the good fortune to be saved by an off duty EMT who administered CPR and off I went to the hospital. Two stents later and a bunch of rehab, I'm back to where I left off.
Today's PB was 20:37:6
I think I can knock another 20 seconds off that time with some effort. Nothing like being mostly dead to make you feel alive.
Cheers!

Not a PB, but I have to say that it's pretty satisfying to row a long slow hour, heart rate average 141, never above 148, and find that the result was within a few meters of my season's best: 13,653. I will definitely be improving my PB in the next few weeks.

New 1hr PB - utterly draining but very satisfying. Sat on 1:53.7 quite comfortably until 8-9km and then fell off the pace as the mind games started. With less than 1km to go I was still on ~1:54.2 so had to empty the tanks as I thought I'd come this far I really ought to have something to show for my efforts.

Nice, think this is good pacing, the 40/50 min fase should be tough and a bit of a fade is fine.
And.... Rating, 26.. Very good, shows how your 5k should be 2/3 spm extra
