A brief challenge update matey''s. Mud Season Madness is drawing to a close, 9 Timbuktoo'ers have crossed the finish line and 2 more are poised to get there. Row on mates, we're cheering you on from afar. Once all the results are in I'll post them here. 2 brave souls haven't missed a day yet, George Mudry & Gary Weaver are both 29 for 29! WooHoo!

Our TimbukTWO team is still rowing strong in 19th place in the WEC challenge as we near the halfway point. We now have 35 rowers on board. I believe there are still a couple days left to sign up for the challenge if you want to be part of the fun. 7 crew mates have passed the 100k mark, with several more primed to joined them over the next few days! The team is over 2.2 million meters for the challenge thus far. Row on matey's and row strong!

The Timbuktoo affiliation is in 21st place worldwide with over 33.7 million meters rowed so far. With 69 members we are averaging nearly 500,000 meters each.13 members have crossed the million mark and several more are poised to join the club Remembet every meter counts of team, so keep on stroking! We still have a shot to crack the top 20. Let 's finish the year strong.

Nite All,

JB

I really wanted to row today crew, but I am having a bunch of needed dental work done and my wife and medical advice both recommend a day of rest. I am poised to pass a million meters, but I will still be poised tomorrow. I had a tooth pulled, another tooth prepped for a crown, molds taken for a new 4 tooth bridge, and my mouth had been numb for the last 4 hours. I am happy to have a new temporary bridge and happy for the wonders of modern dentistry, but I really wanted to row!

Great work by all hands in both challenges! Let's keep rowing to solidify our place in the WEC. My goal is to add another 100K for the challenge and to make it to 6 million meters lifetime before the end of the season. I'm really focusing on keeping my SPM below 24 for both 10K and 60 minute rows.

Thanks team! And thanks Angela! Everybody needs breaks. I am really striving to keep myself on track. I started the rowing year off really slowly and put myself behind the 8-ball. I am finally on track and want to close the year off strong for myself and the team. I have 185k to row to reach my desired goal of 1.2 million meters or 100k per month. I know a couple more of us have targets we are shooting for, so let's root each other onward. As some of you may know I cross train a good bit, so I row, cycle (in classes), lift weights, and stretch (far too little stretching and a rare yoga class or two). My goal this month is to keep all that balance alive while extending my rowing meters this month. I have the benefit of being able to row before work in the morning and to lift weights after since my shift is 11am until 7pm. Anyway, let's go Timbuktoo'ers and Timbuktwo'ers and finish the 2016-2017 Season and the WEC Strong!

Thanks for the update Angela, and for asking about me :)

All went well with my surgery and my doctor said I may resume rowing now ... can't tell you how happy that makes me!

I've started slowly and am gradually adding meters so I'm up to only 3500 mts per day at this point. Still, so thrilled to have the green light and contribute a bit to our team all the same.

Thank you to everyone who posted advice & encouragement, it helped a lot!

I must say Angela, that was an incredible update! :D
If your original goal for the year isn't attainable because life got in the way, just set a new short term goal that is challenging but attainable during this final month of the season. As I was tracking the Mud Season challenge I was really happy to see you hanging in there and grinding it out. It was great to read through that latest team update you gave us.

Timbuktwo is still going strong and n the World Erg Challenge my fellower Ergers! We are in 19th place with 35 teammates contributing. 15 of our crew have crossed 100km for the challenge with George W and Winston T both leading the way with over 250k in the challenge. Several more mates are approaching 200k. The team has managed over 3.3 million meters so far in the change and with 8 days left, I'm betting we can crack 4 million before the challenge ends. Way to row team. Remember ever meter counts too, we all do what we can so row on!

Our Timbuktoo affiliation is still skimming along above the waves in 19th place worldwide with over 35.5 million meters logged so far this year. With 70 members that is an average of over 500km each. If we can keep it going I am sure we can break 37.5 by the season's end. Let's all set our sights on finishing the season strong. Let's each try to give our selves a target to shoot for and continue to row strong as a team. I for one want to row from here to Timbuktoo! Go TimbukTOO!

Hey Team....

The season is winding down, we have 20 rowing days left counting today. I know some of us are still chasing personal goals /targets for the year. I need to row 157k to reach my personal annual goal of 1.2 million meters. Our Timbuktwo team slipped into 20th place in the World Erg Challenge, but with 5 days left and a big push we could still reclaim 19th. Our Timbuktoo affiliate is still holding strong in 19th place worldwide.

Today I managed 2 rowing sessions and a weightlifting session that the took about an hour. I did a morning row of 7300 meters before work and then after work I did a 15 minute warm up row of a little over 3200 meters followed by a bench press work out. Lately I have been doing high volume weight training sessions. Tonight was 100 reps of bench press spread across a dozen sets, my average weight per rep was just under 179 pounds. I am happy with that level of effort, I focused on maintaining a high workload, most sets were performed at 185 pounds and for 8 reps. By the end I was pretty spent, I looked at the rower on my way to the locker room and considered a cool down row, but dinner was waiting and I didn't feel like I had many meters left in me. Anyway, good night all and I'd love to hear how you all are doing. Happy ergging!

Nothing like a request for a lesson on the rower to get me to sharpen up my technique. Nice steady row this morning. 6500+ meters in 30 minutes while maintaining a stroke in the low 30's. Hopefully I will give a good lesson to my friend.

That last post was supposed to say a stroke rate in the low 20's.

I repeated my morning row this evening. 6500+ meters in 30 minutes with a stroke rate in the low 20's. I am trying to pick it up for the end of the WEC push and the end of the rowing season. I still have over 140k to go to reach my goal for the year. Our Timbuktoo affiliation is holding strong in 20th place worldwide with 36,158,025 meters in the books. With 17 more rowing days left it would be great if our gang could top 37.5 or even 38 million. Let's go Timbuktoo!
In the WEC TimbukTWO is holding in 20th place with 2 more days to row. Our mighty crew has rowed 3,991,632m thus far. Let's strive to reach 4.25 million meters. That's just under 260k, I'm good for at least 20k of it, so everybody grab an oar! :D
