Soon sub7 again Allan !allanhallberg wrote:Today I did a 2k and good to see 7m11.7 (1.47.9) so striking distance of a sub 7min. Possibly went out too easy and had to make up time at the end. Tomorrow an easy 5000 then Tuesday another crack at a sub 38 min 10000.

Re: Forum Flyers
Tried the 10k series for serious. Went pretty ok, been very busy, we are rebuilding our house and my task is more or being the mule who drops of the debris and stuff. Carrying it, loading, and bringing it to the dump. Hard work, training was certainly interrupted. And in this case it helped a bit. Wanted to do weights on thursday, but was simply way to tired.
Slept very long today, erged late in the day and weather was fine, cool, good for longer work.
Enough talk, the walk..
1k wu 153.4/24
10k
2 145.9 27
4 146.5 26
6 147.1 26
8 147.5 27
10 144.7 28 ended pulling 1.26 s
35:27.5 given my current fitness and training a good result. Dr was 125. Won,t have time for a ctc this week. So will use this also for the ctc.

Re: Forum Flyers
Dragana is starting to get more fanatical at the ctc than I am, she put in a solid improvement for this months 5k piece (2:23 avg to 2:15).
Meanwhile, I've spent a week off-erg recovering from a sprained neck (even lifting coffee with my left hand was painful). Think I overtaxed
myself with the 8k race on saturday in the cold and rain, followed by a morning row against 5bft winds on sunday. Oddly enough, my neck
muscles gave in while sleeping sunday night, did not feel it coming at all.
My conscience is very upset for having rowed so little all week.

Ivan, better weather now, so you should heal, dragana is nicely getting better
Tod, given you running no doubt you could be a lot faster, but thats not focus it is. Running fitness good for your build/age

Hi Henry. Is that 1min rest between intervals? Might take a few attempts to get the pacing right.

Allan - use the rest any way you like as long as it totals 7min. I am thinking 45" between the 177s on each side then 2' each side of the 777m or maybe 1:30 before and 2:30 after the 777.allanhallberg wrote:Hi Henry. Is that 1min rest between intervals? I roughly think the rest After the 777 rep is the most needed.
First three reps slightly on reserve.
Hammer the 777, take a longer rest.
And again empty the tank on the last three.
Using a running start will help.
Re: Forum Flyers
So, neck injury mostly past now, just a nagging stiffness remaining. Attempted the 5142m CTC while I had the chance.
About 30 seconds slower than my 5k PR, pride is hurt, but it was to be expected after a 1,5 week hiatus.

Re: Forum Flyers
Going well thanks Lindsay.
Yep, I had this misguided thought of staying in the top 100. Then there were some great times. Shame about the 2 nearly full boats would have been awesome to get them full as well. Good luck with your attempt Lindsay.
