This month's challenge is looking very popular, still got time to work on bettering my position, possibly shave a few seconds off but no chance of getting near 19m tho.
Cheers

Have a look, takes very long, age/weight adjusted, teams and individual, from 1min to 10k, its a year on year competition.

Yes the CTC is building now - hopefully another boat or 2 if we rustle up a few ladies.
The Indoor Rowers League was initially part of the UK C2/ISS program that was lost in the collapse there and resurrected by a French guy who added a team part and an age and weight compensation/adjustment based on WR relativities. Each month is different and the winner in each age group gets 100 and the others a % of that time.
Teams of 8 are totalled too. (The FFs won 15/16)
Starts September Allan so need to enter then (and join the FF team!). Events are 4min, 1mile, 6342m, 5000m, 1min, 2km, 10km, 500m. Can do as often each month as you like. So we have to do the 10k this month and the 500 in April to finish. Just good for variety and dose help the old guys/gals a bit (like the Nonathlon).

Have finally worked out how to get verification codes, will start entering those. I put in the 30min but not the 6k yet, it says the number is wrong but I think its to with time zone maybe, being that we are ahead in time to USA. Not too sure how it all works at their end but must be programmed in somewhere to link time and distance to the code.

Allan you just have to make sure that the date on the PM matches logbook date. We are often ahead a day of course. make sure the date on the PM is correct (it is the menu) as that is the date the code will verify and then when you log it make sure that the date in the log is the same - you can change it to match.

terry and I had a play date tonite to do the IRL 10km
Good but not great but much better with adjustment!
Mine was @1:55.5 and Terry @1:58.2 (he is leading the individual IRL for now)
Would have preferred in the 1:54s but not quite good enough at the moment
details in training

Our new recruit Lana was back having another go at the Bob challenge and knocked 30s off he time last week - a real goer who is getting the bug.

Gave the 10,000m a go today, 38m 24 (1m 55.1), like you Lindsay I was hoping for around the 38min mark but wasn't there. Got a reply about the verification codes, I do intervals with a warm up first, apparently it only works with rankable rows so intervals don't count. Good to know.

nice 10km Allan. Yes I am afraid only ranking distances done as single pieces are verifiable (unfortunately). there has long been debate about improving the system to allow wider verification of all sessions. Then code has to match all the details. I pretty much try to verify all ranking distances even if it isn't near the top - there is a very good argument now that C2 should only allow verified rankings in say the top 10% or something like that.

I kind of lost touch with the flyers with the Brit site no more. So just checking in!
I'm rowing maybe once per week, 20mins. Swim twice, run twice and bike twice per week.
Ran a 10k last month in 37:10, around 94kgs right now.
Isabella 13 my eldest a competitive swimmer wants to try rowing now! I had to patiently wait
until she made the decision herself, she is a natural!

Toddy - wondered where you got to. Saw you did one of the challenges late last year but nothing since. I started back 31st Dec last year - new years resolution - managed to keep it going this time even thru the heat of summer. Sometimes I think too long away as I forgot about the pain, but then there is the great feeling after doing it. All my PB's were a long time ago so will hopefully have some good ones within 12 months. I have found the different challenges good again for the motivation. Looks like you are gearing up for a tri? Any way good to have you back.

Cheers

Today I did a 2k and good to see 7m11.7 (1.47.9) so striking distance of a sub 7min. Possibly went out too easy and had to make up time at the end. Tomorrow an easy 5000 then Tuesday another crack at a sub 38 min 10000.
