Has anyone else given the 1000m a go?. My best time 3m 28.9 which I am rapt with. Hopefully a few more shorter challenges coming up.

For me it's like having to start all over again so gains are great. Having started back rowing 31st Dec 2016 after 18 months of very little cardio and struggling to hold 2.00 pace for more than 2km, managing under 1.45 for the 1km was exciting. There was a bit of nervousness not knowing pacing for 1km but a strong finish and pulling 1.40's for the last 250 metres it was pleasing to see sub 1.45. Bring on some more shorties.

I tried but it just didn't happen unfortunately Allan. Life and training just got in the way. I suspect there is a fast one hiding in there. Nice 3:28

I gave it a go at the weekend, I'm pretty chuffed with my 3:18.1 even though it was a massive fly and die attempt not sure I could have gone much faster.

Terry and I had a CTC go tonite - mine was V2.0
Wanted to get close to 1:50 and sub 19'
Managed it just - 18:59.6 @1:50.8 details in training log - would have been nice a bit faster but pretty ok
Terry was 1:56.0
Luckily we have unearthed a new lady as well! Complete newby but a gym regular very fit named Lana. 50+ lwt and a real goer.
Managed @2:28 which is actually not shabby in the circumstances. Hope to get her again next month now.

Joined up, but I suspect my erg meters will be dropping off by the end of the month with daylight savings time around the corner.
I have had a race/regatta every other week for the past month and a half, puts a severe dent in the erg mileage. Tomorrow a final
8km slog in the Head of the river Amstel, and then I finally get a month and a half of rest (after I squeeze out a 5k before the end of the month).

I'm in tho the next month is a bit tricky - too much work and not enough training I fear but will do my best

And don't forget IRL.

Scheduled for tomorrow night Jack with Terry in tow (or maybe leading!)

What is the IRL?

This month's challenge is looking very popular, still got time to work on bettering my position, possibly shave a few seconds off but no chance of getting near 19m tho.
Cheers
