Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Hi Dougie,
Can you reset password for Jess Anderson. Bw Rowing Heavy Female.
She had problems, then I tried signing up and had problems too adding her score.
Thanks,

I had no idea about this. It would be nice to have a separate thread on this (many like me don't stumble upon this thread too often). Bob was always a huge, positive influence on these boards. Amazing guy. Very sad news.Citroen wrote:This year we should also row to remember Bob Spenger who was a massive poster (5142 posts) on here.le grand fromage wrote:And that's another thing that gone, with the demise of the ISS board, all the info on the why's and wherefores of the Carole McNally's CTC rowCitroen wrote:Bear in mind that February 14th is a special day for the CTC when we remember Carole McNally's early death.

7:15PM EST 02/14 here. I appear to have missed the window for entries to the Carole McNally Memorial Challenge. Is the time slot not tied to GMT? If this challenge began at 12 noon GMT, as customary on the monthly challenges, and ran 24 hrs., entry should be open until 7AM tomorrow (Weds.. Feb 15) my local time. DId this challenge commence at 12 noon GMT? Or was it started at 12 midnite GMT? How is an ex-colonial to know?

Hello - I'm trying to reach Dougie (Citroen) but can't send a PM since I only registered to ask this favor --
Could you please add my time for Carole McNally CTC to the event page?
I am on the West Coast of the US and it's only just after 6:30 pm here... I could not row this year's until after work.
Would very much appreciate it. I've done the challenge several years and would not like to miss out!

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
I've added your result.
The changeover time for the Carole memorial is always UK midnight on 13th Feb to UK midnight on 14th Feb as most of the folks who knew Carole and want to row for her are in the UK.

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
I was travelling home yesterday from a snowed-in weekend in Boston. Joe looked a little lonely in Paddy Power for the Carole McNally CTC, so I rowed it today: 1402m, 5:05.7. Post if desired; it's the thought that counts.
I see where March will be in honor of Bob Spenger. Excellent!

I need to know what name you like to be known by on the CTC. My crystal ball went offline in the "Great Crystal Ball Disaster" of 1989.Cyclist2 wrote:I was travelling home yesterday from a snowed-in weekend in Boston. Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Please make an entry for Jack Gilmore, 6:19.2 @ 2:15.2 pace. I returned home from C-B's 02/13. I did the challenge just prior to 7PM EST yesterday 2/14 because I am neither Brit nor mindreader and assumed that the C. M. Memorial ran from 12 noon to 12 noon GMT. My second day with the flu so I did make an effort. Also I am going to need a HWT tag to replace or alternate with LWT.

I see references to a Bob Spenger row - any preliminary info available here? I'd like to note any similar time zone restrictions in advance. He was, very much, in my time zone!
Watched him at Long Beach on a couple occasions. Last time I saw him he was setting WRs in a t-shirt that said "Pushing 90 is exercise enough." Cool guy.
I will also watch out on FB, just not a frequent user.
Cheers!

The Bob Spenger 5142m row will run from 12:00GMT on 1st March to 12:00BST on 1st April (we change from winter time (GMT) to British Summer Time on the last Sunday in March).BarbaraH wrote: I see references to a Bob Spenger row - any preliminary info available here? Carole's row is always a one day event run on the anniversary of her sad and early death (at age 41).
