LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Re: We could use some meters....
Tomorrow is going to be the toughest row I have ever taken on, scary because it is so much longer than I have ever done before, and because at one stage the forecast was for 38 degrees Celsius (100.4 Fahrenheit), my garage is going to be like an oven. But I have done the training, I've rested up (sort of) and I'm hungry for Pizza and a beautiful boat like Ed's. I must be a LUNA-TIC, I certainly feel like one right now!
hope your row goes well :]

Come on LUNA-TICs, as of right now we have dropped 2 places to 11th for the sake of six kilometres! Any one of us can do that much, let's go!

Back in 9th....for the moment...one posting and we rise or fall with less than 5K separating the three teams vying for 9th....

Meanwhile, Andrew's getting ready to hit the erg (perhaps at oh-dark-thirty to take advantage of lesser heat) and go for a biggie distance. Even half that biggie distance will give us some breathing room. And speaking of breathing, do watch that asthma attack stuff....it's scary and can make you row with the angels. Think slower and steady gets this race done...no sprinting needed!

About that 100K...
About that 100,000 m goal....you don't have to do this all in one effort....hopefully you will row some, rest some, row some, rest some....ad infinitum....
Re: We could use some meters....
Well, I'm certainly rooting for you and your 100K quest; I'm sure you'll be sensible about it ... though, that's already a contradiction in terms, from where I'm sitting! You've inspired me, for one, to quit feeling sorry for myself with whatever version of the plague that the grand-littles have shared this week, and Just Do It! Let's go out in a blaze of glory!Shabana wrote:... Following Yoda's advice from Kona2 ...

Re: About that 100K...
I knew I could manage 100k in a 24 hour period in bits, I wanted something a little more, like the first marathon I ran all the way rather than walked/ran. That was why it was so scary! I was hoping to make it under eight hours. I guess that there is some truth in you get what you visualise, I made it in 7:57:59, having stood up twice, once to change pillows and once for a toilet break (I drank 7 litres of fluids). Fortunately the expected hot weather did not materialise.Kona2 wrote:About that 100,000 m goal....you don't have to do this all in one effort....hopefully you will row some, rest some, row some, rest some....ad infinitum....
Congratulations to Danno, Wim, David B, K2 and all the loonies achieving great results as the competition comes to a close!
