Very impressive, toyed with trying that same goal but all of the horror stories about the difference between HM and FM made me reconsider. Congrats!

if its any sort of help reference. the pace was about HM +5s (1:20:00), 10k +8s (36:45), 5k +10s (18:00) - ish...

2k done - (be quiet Henry!!!!)
not very optimal, could probably grind off a few seconds with optimized pace and stuff, should really rate up some more, shorten the drive, but hey. its my first this year (and probably my last)

But nicely executed and perfectly paced Dean - well done

If this is the ONE, on to Crazy Bear. I can only guess what you do for a light paddle the day after a 2kTT, Dean.

Dean :D With zero speedwork not that bad. Still convinced 6.40 is pretty doable with a bit of working towards it.

Other point. ME 1k 2.56.0 lifetime equal pb, which was 20 plus years old. Took very deep digging. Details see sprintthread.

2:56?
chuff me, that is more than fast. how close are you to a 6min 2k?

p.s. yes. that was with zero speedwork, i think you aren't too far wrong, even if a 6:40 seems awfully quick for me.
I kn ow it wasn't 100%, i know i need to rate faster and shorten the drive - the legs worked well, but i could do more "snap" from the upper body and a faster recovery.
definetly more twitch work would lower that time- Just not a priority currently.
after crazy bear :)

If you feel like it, I think you can lower your time 10 seconds in 6 weeks. Your speed is vert untrained, with a solid base to build on.

Sub 6, not even close by a landmile. My current power is relative good, my aerobic fitness is certainly not on that level, 6.20 would be very good for me.
Most people have relative poor 1k pb s, difference between 1 and 2k is 5 seconds or more. Most rowers come from tye aerobic side, 1k is not an important test for most.

Very nice FM Dean. I find it amusing that a sub 2:00 paced FM seems to be very do-able......but the 2k gets at ya! Decent 2k also, particularly considering the lack of speed work. I did an FM back in May (new PR of 3:04).....and I'm still spooked by the 2k's! I don't know if a 2k is really that hard or if we assign so much value to 2000m as "THE" distance that matters. Either way.....they sure seem to hurt the most!

Great job!

Another PB for me, without really trying. Just a jump on and go for it.
suprised myself here.
PB by about 15 secs... and one of my 2016/2017 goals (sub 18 mins)...

Great PB again Dean this time for the 5k, and I like the way you made a bit of a game of trying to find out what the time and to a lesser extent the distance was ;)

EDIT: bah you have spoiled it now by including the picture ;)

Congratulations!
Since I don't train, that is the way it usually would happen - just would feel 'in the groove' that day.
