ImageImageImage And so it begins....

Image Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We like to count things here (big reveal, eh?) and blessings are among those things! Whether you be a veggiesaurus or a meatasaurus, wine, beer or other beverage consumer, cook or dishwasher, here's hoping that your day is filled with good friends, good food and good times. Thor calls it the shrinking pants syndrome day...others say get out the buffet pants! And no matter how busy the day might be, make time for a walk, run, ski-erg or row! Sometime during this day, raise your glass in a toast to your fellow Lunies out there!

Hello BG (and fellow ultra-runner)! Have done many 'Gobble Wobbles' etc, but the streak and focus is to simply run 6 miles or further every Thanksgiving (& Christmas). Can be 6, 26 or 56, so long as it's 6 or more. First was in 1978 after dropping 50 lbs. Have kept the streak going since. Wait, just realized this is my 39th! When you get old, math is the second thing to go. Don't remember the first :D . Ski erged 2k for a short warm up & start the Holiday Challenge. Goal is to to do 50 years if I'm still this side of the dirt.

Image Good luck to all you rooftop adventure types! Get your meters in first...

Whew. While I am grateful for many things, I am also glad that the Thanksgiving dinner is a once a year thing. Tough day to get meters done, but it looks like we had a slight uptick in the numbers yesterday. A couple of hearty Lunies threw down half marathons (they were planning on extra helpings for sure).

Image During the holidays, most cities see a surge of interest in the Botanical Gardens for the light displays, or the Zoo Lights (must admit that having the "warming hut" be the reptile room creeps me out). It must take a small army of folks to put these displays together. It's something for the whole family...and as the temperature drops throughout the evening, theImage aroma of coffee or hot chocolate beckons like the siren call it is from the beverage stations in the venue. That shot of espresso that tasted so wonderful at 8 pm keeps one wide awake for hours (and hours).

It was a good day for Lunie erging here on Day 2 of the Challenge. We've got multiple palindromes, two half moons and a full moon! Throwing down those big numbers moves you closer to those reindeer in a hurry!

Day 4 of 31 !

Meters pouring into Reindeer Central from all over the world....and the Lunies will surely crest the ONE million team challenge meter summit today! Meanwhile, over 120 MILLION meters have been completed by all the erging participants in the Universe, and $48 is in the charity match coffers. This is serious business for the charities who are the beneficiaries of the Concept2 Challenge dollars. It's also a great opportunity for each of us to contribute! Don't forget to select the charity you want your meters to support (or you can select to let Concept2 choose).

Reindeer and Accessories: How You Earn Them Here ----what's going to be in your reindeer wallet?

100,000 m ......earn your Reindeer (and $2 Concept2 $$)
200,000 m ......earn your antler lights (and you've earned $6 Concept2 $$) And the coveted Holiday Challenge Pin !
300,000 m ......earn the flashing harness (and you've earned $10 Concept2 $$)
400,000 m ......earn the reindeer tail wag (and you've earned $14 Concept2 $$)
500,000 m ......earn the reindeer ear wag (and you've earned $18 Concept2 $$)

You will never work so hard for $10 !
