How is your SkiErg mounted?
I'm curious how is your SkiErg mounted at home or at a commercial training facility.
Is the kit that comes with the machine enough to mount it to a concrete wall?
Is mounting a thick wood board to a wall, and then attaching the ski erg to the board a good option?
Also, if you use the C2 Floor Stand, do you find the whole setup stable enough for strong pulling?
Cheers.

This guy is really strong. If it's stable enough for him, it's stable enough for you I guess

I guess you're right.
I know it works well with the Floor Stand, even if it seems wobbly.
I'm trying to decide if that stand is really worth the expense. I think it's overpriced, especially in my parts.

Re: How is your SkiErg mounted?
the hardware we provide with the SkiErg is for mounting to a wall with 16" stud spacing. Alternative instructions are provided for other types of walls. http://www.concept2.com/files/pdf/us/sk ... sembly.pdf
If you have a solid wall and you are not planning on moving the SkiErg around I would suggest mounting it to the wall even if it takes some extra work. One of the great features of the SkiErg when wall mounted is how little floor area it takes up. If you don't have a solid wall or you need to be able to move the machine around then go for the floor stand- it's plenty rugged for all users. C2JonW

Re: How is your SkiErg mounted?
I want to mount this to a wall in my garage. My garage has a sloped floor, like most, in order to have water run out of the garage. As a result, the right side of the base should be directly on the floor. However, there will be a small gap between the floor and the base on the left side. Will this cause issues? Can I just shim it? Is that even necessary? Can't find any videos on how it mounts to the wall. Maybe the whole thing doesn't even need to touch the ground?
Thoughts?

My garage has a 3 inch concrete lip at the bottom, so I bolted double 2x4s on both sides top and bottom, and attached the Skierg to the 2x4s. The base had a gap at the front on one side, so I knocked in a shim but don't know if it made any difference. I did the same in a different location with a higher concrete lip, except didn't use a shim there. The slope over 8 inches is not that much. Mounting instructions should have been included, but all you do is attach the Skierg to the studs with the bolts.

Hey man I am moving my skiers to the wall in my garage. I have a garage with a concrete lip as well around the base. It’s about 2 1/2 inches. Then I have 3/4 stall mat up against it where I plan to mount the skierg. Just want to see how you rigged it.

Re: How is your SkiErg mounted?
I mounted the top of my Skierg like this, using 11 and 7 inch blocks of plywood on each side.
The 11" blocks were attached with 3.5" lag bolts, and the 7" blocks were attached with 2.5" lag bolts.
I nailed on the 1/4 inch pieces of wood later to make up for not using the Concept2 plastic pieces at the bottom.
If the studs are not close to 16 inches apart then you can use a cross piece at the top instead of the 7 inch blocks.
I drilled all holes in the blocks before attaching them to the wall.
Tee nuts are best for attaching the Skierg to the blocks to make periodic moving much easier.
I did almost the same at the bottom, first using 7 inch blocks with 3.5 inch lag bolts, then a 19 inch cross piece.
The last perpendicular blocks can be whatever the distance is from the top of the cross piece to the floor, 6 inches in the photo.
Regular screws were used instead of lag bolts when necessary due to location. Make sure when drilling that the outer holes allow
the outer diameter of the screws so they can be tapped through, and the anchor holes should allow the inner diameter of the screws.

Re: How is your SkiErg mounted?
I had great difficulty setting mine up.
I live in a 120 year old house.
Basement has low ceiling and many thick exposed rafters.
I literally had 1/2 inch to spare height wise, but still needed room for my hands to move at top of the stroke.
I got the SKierg in place and tried securing with this bending metal strapping, then tried securing the metal strapping with wood screws.
Was a pain and still was a little loose.
Ended up just using thick Zip Ties, and has held up excellent, and was much quicker to secure.
