Clepsydra - an excellent addition to my vocabulary. But I must add a groan sound effect to the youtube video, when the narrator refers to our "insatiable thirst to record time."

Lest ye fergit... A not-so-cuddly traveler on one of K2's Bunny Trails reminds us that DST ends this weekend. Unless you row in the morning, get ready to row in the dark. (Okay, I know I set Thor up for a zinger.)
Do you have any idea how much electricity you sighties use? Lights, screens, Clocks all over the place and on and on. I once lived with another blind guy. We shared an apartment and the hydro bill was next to nothing. I once had a team leader complain that she couldn’t see my monitor at work because I kept it off. I pointed out that if I can’t see her screen why should she be able to see mine. Row in the dark? You bet baby! haha.
Well I have to row 26K or so today to get in my 13th week in a row of 100K or more. I best be getting to it while I have the daylight to glisten off my soon to be soft sweaty skin.
Happy meters all.

Yes, there were a couple of those groaners in there.

Image Happy 40th to Concept2!

40-4-40...and you were wondering what to do with the Do Over Hour that we're given today! Forty minutes on the erg of your choice...and these are cumulative minutes, with every bit counting towards your total. Lots of reasons to be grateful for Concept2's birthday! I wonder how many gazillions of ergs the company has produced in their lifetime?

Nice to see another Ontarian in the mix. If you or any of the new folks need help, just ask.

Time to rock and row!

Now, is there any truth to the rumor that you row in blue suede shoes?

Good for you. And you didn't hurt your knee this time either. Getting to the root of the problem can be the root of the problem.

Thanks to everyone for your congratulatory posts. I am old enough to remember when Elvis gave the world "Blue Suade Shoes" and would be happy to wear them. I have always enjoyed the song, but was and still am more into Miles Davis, John Coltrane and like musicians. Still, good music can be found in all genres, and Blue Suade Shoes is good music. All the meters I have traveled on both the rower and skier have come starting 2 weeks after I completed my 70th trip around the sun in April 2012. I am hoping all this solar energy lasts a little longer. It has already lasted longer than I expected when I was a young person in my 50s.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 11.06.16

Post by Kona2 » November 7th, 2016, 11:42 am

Image Did ya get it done ??

For a one day Challenge, getting 1818 people in the Erging Universe to participate at the 40 minute level....is awesome. Not quite sure how many of the 1818 are Lunies (but I thought it good karma that it was a double double number of finishers when I checked), but judging from our meter totals, I would say that we have 28 or 29. A good showing! And now we will see if there are any Lunies who are randomly selected out of the finishers as T-shirt recipients....

Let's see, if approximately one percent of the finishers are selected for one of the 20 t-shirts....that's a one percent chance...chance that it will be a Lunie.....yikes...30 percent of finishers are on a team....and 5 percent of those are Lunies....whoa. Let's just say that there's a really small chance (I think it's still a one percent chance)...hahaha. We'll see if The Force is with us!

I have calculated that there is a roughly 1 in 4 chance of one or more of your team members winning a prize, so fingers crossed. The chance for an individual to win a prize is indeed around 1%
Piers 53m was 73Kg 175cm to 2019 now 78kg
500m 1:34 (HW 2020) 2k 7:09.5 (2017 LWT) 10k 39:58.9 (2016 LWT) HM 1:28:26.9 (2017 LWT)
