Anyone shocked by C2 history?
Everytime i go on a Concept 2 in a gym, I make it a habit to look at the "history" on the C2, to see if a monster is out there.
My gyms C2 only gives 3 days of history, mostly 5.05, 6min stuff. The best session i saw was a 40min at 1:48 22spm, and a 4x4min 3rest at 1:39. Pretty good, but not elite. I long for the day,to see a 2k on there at 5:59, and not 8:59.
So what's the best session you've seen in the history (not including your own stuff)?

Sorry! The only shock I get is when I see attemps to row 1000 meters in 10 minutes or so...
Could be someone in revalidation though. Or - more likely - completely clueless about technique.

Revalidation? Is that like when you buy the Harley you can't ride, resolve to build the physique you saw in a magazine, and date women younger than your daughter?

Oops Jackarabit, translation error!
I meant rehabilitation, after an illness or accident.

Rehab. Yes of course! Aerobic exercise while sitting (removes the gravitational, load-bearing component). After a lookup, I discover that the Brit medical profession reviews and renews credentials by a process referred to as revalidation. In the US, it's recertification. Very commonplace to hear of people "seeking validation" but not so revalidation.

I lurk in the memory a bit but not to see really fast ones either (never seen one) - slowest rocks - for me it is 20' @7:30 pace.Ante wrote:Sorry! The only shock I get is when I see attemps to row 1000 meters in 10 minutes or so...![]()

That's pretty extreme to be sure. I get a picture of someone using it to do curls, alternating hands, at a low rate. It would be interesting to know what the rate was. And, yes, people really do arm curls on the erg. I know an experienced, reliable instructor who sometimes has his class do them (but two hands at once). Its is not entirely frivolous. It gives the classes a little variety to keep them interesting and it shows that the erg has other potential uses.lindsayh wrote: I lurk in the memory a bit but not to see really fast ones either (never seen one) - slowest rocks - for me it is 20' @7:30 pace.

3.8watts. Flatlining the force curve. The C2 erg is the Rodney Dangerfield of exercise machines.

Had a bit of a surprise while recently staying at a nice hotel in Orlando, Florida. Two Concept D models in the back dimly lit corner of a large fitness area. Surprise was the low use of the machines. First one had 178,000 lifetime meters. Second had only 57000 lifetime meters. Due to location & low use, they appeared to be the Rodney Dangerfield machines. That said, they both worked well and did not have to wait in line
