@Gammmmo: Solid even rate and pacing, plus a strong sprint to finish. Well done! And, yes, it looks possible to borrow from that finish to beef up the early pace a tad - enough to pick up the other 28m.

Oh thankyou Bob. Hope so. Yes, I just felt so much better I thought I'd pay later on for holding the faster pace....but oddly enough the point where I had to really dig-in never came. When that point does come it's accompanied by a very "drained" feeling and technique seems to break down a bit...but like I say, it just didn't happen. I had one rest day the day before (2 rest days seems to leave me rusty - probably because of the reduction in blood plasma), did my first interval session 5x1km (at 5K PB-1 pace) Thursday, and had a strong coffee directly before today's session. I've not slept well of late so I was still surprised - moral: you can never can *really* tell when you're going to go well or not. The body never fails to be unpredictable. Had this so many times before.Bob S. wrote:@Gammmmo: Solid even rate and pacing, plus a strong sprint to finish. Well done! Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
PB on the 5k @ 18:37.6.
Took 20 seconds off my previous best. Legs seemed to lack power at the start so I upped the rate. Missed my minimum of 8 watts a stroke
by a little but am happy the with effort.

Congrats to all, lots of fast times here! In particlular the LWTs, Gammmo and Wilkes (150 pounds? more like a featherweight!). We're all very close in size (I'm 6' 165lbs) and I'll be "aging up" in December to the 60+ category.Nice work.
Remi, your old 2k pace is now your 10k pace!
