PPB Week 4: Endurance 2
Target: 6500m @ 2:03.5
Achieved: 6500m @ 2:03.1
Splits:
01: 2:01.4 @ 29
02: 2:03.0 @ 27
03: 2:04.0 @ 29
04: 2:04.6 @ 29
05: 2:03.8 @ 29

11: 2:04.9 @ 31
12: 2:02.8 @ 31
13: 2:00.1 @ 31
I tried to keep a more consistent pace this time, which meant I had a little bit more left in the tank by the end.
This week I'll move onto Week 5, two endurance rows of 7000m and an interval.

Nice to see plenty nice ergers and old friends going hard on the PP-Programm again. I am in awe as to some of your results. Myself being not in the shape to join but trying to build up some lost stamina by doing some long rows again during the FTC. You guys have fun! Cheers - Hardy

Impressive work Lindsay! That's quite the pyramid. You can tell based on the 750 / 1000 / 750 you certainly weren't holding anything back. Great pace average!
Nice work Piers! Your pyramid sounded dead on mine (except you made less mistakes). That 750 when you've overshot is awful. On the pyramid, that's the best way to know if you were smart about pacing or not. You should be able to improve from the 1000 - if you can't, you've gone too hard on the way up the pyramid.
Barry - nice work on the long intervals and the hard distance too.
Nick - I'll look in to the PBB more. I'm not sure on your question about the 4th row - SS or interval.
Great work Adam! That's a solid time on your distance row!
Good to see you Hardy!

@ Mike, Piers, Dean, Lindsay - looks like you've all done pyramids since I last posted which in their own way were really pushing things - great stuff and Mike a special shout out for your recovery in the last couple there.

Some great times (and effort) on the pyramids so far, my turn today.
W5D1 – speed pyramid. Did this at 2:04.8 r28 last time, so that was the initial target pace.
250 2:04.0 r29
500 2:04.3 r27
750 2:04.4 r28
1000 2:04.4 r27
750 2:04.3 r27
500 2:03.2 r28
250 1:57.6 r32
Average 2:03.7 r28
Over a second off the last time I did that, so happy with that Really enjoying being on this plan and getting the support and input from everyone on this board.

Great work Lindsay and Sanz.
I have colonoscopy Tuesday morning so will push 4 x 2K until Wednesday. Don't think I want to do it fully fasted.

Colonoscopy Take it easy even the day after - I'm told the preparation for these can knock the stuffing out of you for a day or so.G-dub wrote:I was wondering where my old friend HD went! Do t be a stranger! Start posting again.

Nice pacing Sanz - your middle distances looked consistent (and below last time too). That means you did well on pacing. Great job.S-man wrote:Some great times (and effort) on the pyramids so far, my turn today.

Lots of good speed work from the PP group. It is interesting to look over the previous cycle's times and compare.
BPP Week 5 7000m row
Target 2:20.0
Actual 2:19.4 r20
32:32.6
The adding of 500m each week and maintaining pace is starting to sneak up and make these harder. As I peak ahead I see there's another 6 weeks before the distances stop increasing. Should get exciting seeing how long me and my BPP buddies can keep up.

My own interpretation of the SS.
UT2 - low HR - long and steady.
A bit slower than my usual 2:05-2:08. Feeling a little stiffness in my knee, so i also upped the rate from the usualy R18 to R20 and slowed the pace to 2:10.
rather finish the row comfortably than struggle and have pain. the stroke is a little powerful, but less strain on the drive.
row is logged - should be able to see it onthe signature.
Volounteered for another race on Saturday in an eight this time.
roseninsel 8-er - a 12km row,
which could be quite interesting as ive never been in an eight... but its a fun row
