Strip html tags from Archived posts

Post by JohnAd » September 8th, 2016, 3:18 am

There is some gold in the archived forums but they are pretty hard to read though all the html tags.

If somebody can send me a dump of the archived posts I'd be happy to try and write something to convert them to more normal phpBB posts or help with cleaning them up.

I am not sure but the censored words option may be able to help.

If you can set different words with a different replacement then you could replace <br /><br /> with a CR, that would clear up a fair amount of the posts, then you could look for other common patterns.

Of course if it's only a single replacement then you would just have a lot of *** DELETE - SPAM *** (cooking room) replacement text.
