Rowlympics Issues

Post by Thor MW » August 22nd, 2016, 1:16 pm

I know a few people didn’t have their time update on the Rowlympics page yesterday. It is now updated. Don’t forget to download your certificate.

It’s not about the winning or losing, it’s about the rowing.
Well, that wasn’t very inspiring but I tried.

When I started rowing in October 2013 I would often choose a Workout of the Day. I found it forced me to vary my pace or to row longer without a break. At that time, I was trying to improve my 2K time. Then the Holiday Challenge came along and I was more focused on just generating meters. This continued with the 2014 VTC (ah, my first bathtub). Nowadays, I'm happy to be able to keep rowing at any pace (while watching Netflix). Back to your question, I think they're useful and you might consider them when you're getting ready for the next CRASH-B sprints. You might also take a look at the Pete Plan.

Cool Number!

Post by Thor MW » August 22nd, 2016, 9:17 pm

Little birdy told me that Norma hit 5,555,555 lifetime meters today.
Just think, only another 50,000,000 to hit all fives again.
Way to go!!!

600 K Doug G - must have run the incline a bunch...says it's down for repairs! Yep K2 the Manitou incline is down for I think a few months, but thats not due to me burnin it up, I've done it twice this Summer, been doing the Castle Rock incline every Saturday it's only 20 min. away. It's only 1/10th of the Manitou so I do it between 7-10 times and have been rowing a little more than planned because the challenges sucked me in :) . Mt. Evans was my last 14er before I tackle Half dome next Tuesday. I leave for San Francisco Saturday, I feel ready and am very excited for the challenge.
Way to go Norma on the 5's lifetime palindrome, Ya can't get anything by Thor :)

Wow, Doug, way to take on a challenge and train for it! Half Dome difficulty factor on a scale of 1 to 10: 11!! Insanity factor: 9 out of 10. Hope you have great weather and awesome views.
We love number games on this team, haha. Gee thanks, Thor, for noting that I only have another 50 MM to go before I hit all fives again.

Image The Mini-Incline at Castle Rock

Thanks, Doug, for introducing yet another Colorado gem that I didn't know about....for me, Castle Rock was known for the Elephant Rock Bicycle event...sort of a season opener for some cyclists. The Philip Miller complex, where the incline is located, looks to be a wonderful resource. Good luck with the Half Dome...and checking another box on the life goals list! Here's a link to one person's photos of the Half Dome adventure: http://californiathroughmylens.com/hiki ... hoto-guide

Meanwhile, we are slogging through the last week of the Dog Days of Summmrrrr Challenge. Just remember that this is getting you ready for the intensity that the Fall Team Challenge can bring. No worries - we get two weeks off before THAT hummer starts. Keep moving!

Well, Dag1 you got the Half Dome by me. I’m not sure just exactly what it is but take it on man.
You know I’m always in your corner Norma. Haha.
I just looked, I am a dog. I have 40,306 in week 4. I didn’t think I rowed quite that much. Bark Bark.

Keep on dog’n it.

If that's the MINI Incline, I'd hate to consider their medium or large Inclines!
Makes my knees sting, just looking at that image; and imagining the down slope on the flip side.
