Happy Birthday, Minnie and bg!! I think I'll have a glass of wine in your honor, and another to celebrate our wedding anniversary (39 years for Ed and me today). What's that--3 glasses of wine?? Uh oh!

Well, Two HB’s and a good old Flintstone happy anniversary song for Norma. Be very grateful you can’t hear me singing it. haha.

I got the bronze around my neck now. Now I must slow back down and get to my normal rowing. Did around 55K in two days so that’s not too bad for an old child. I’m old for a child.

Keep on rock’n for your country.

Image Whoop, whoop and hallelujah! 2 birthday twins and an anniversary ! Awesome!

It was a rainy start to the day - and we were all going hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park anyway. We did scale back our trail choice from the Shadow Mountain Overlook (the only surviving fire lookout tower in the RMNP) to the RMNP Big Meadow trail. In due time we reached Big Meadow, and it was as advertised. Standing on the edge of the meadow as we emerged from the trees, we could see a buck in the not too distant meadow. This was cool, even as he bounced away. And what was that dark shape a couple of football fields distance-wise away? I put my camera on maximum magnification and took the shot - thinking I would take a look more closely when we stopped for lunch. Ahead, there was a two plank bridge over the creek that lead across the meadow to another stand of trees. Looked fun, so off we went. Lunch finished, and a look at the photo forgotten, we started back across the meadow. But wait a minute...what was that over by the bridge we had come across? Egad. It was a BIG a** bull moose with huge antlers. I looked for a tree to climb. Snort. I am not going to tangle withanything that's even bigger than a horse. Moose finally went back to eating, putting his backside towards us. We scampered across the two plank bridge and beat feet down the trail in the pouring rain. It was a good day, and we lived to tell about it. I'll download the camera tomorrow.

Galactic Wishes

Post by just27 » August 8th, 2016, 5:05 pm

Thanks for all the galactic birthday wishes, much appreciated!
I had a lovely multi-day celebration, and am still milking it.
I just know that Barbara and Norma had marvelous festivities, too.
Party on, spacers!

Welcome to the Bronze Age ! Six Lunies on the podium so far! Things are looking up!!

Thor has company in the Bronze Age now as David A, Kevin, Tombeur, Derric, and E Vos join him - each having put in at least five hours of erg time. Back in the Bronze Age day, that's waaaay back like 3000 BC, the features of early urban civilization were starting to emerge with things like the development of viable writing systems...and important for us space travelling Lunies, societies laid the foundations for astronomy and mathematics.
