5 Million Meters!!

We reached this milestone on Dec 17, 2005. Wait to row, hosers.

Brian, just to clarify, your last row/post was for the 17th not, the 18th correct. I don't think you can be more than 24 hours ahead of us, although you do row pretty fast

I will update the website later.

Keep on rowin', hosers.

Jim

I have added the Eh!Team to the virtual challenge for January 2006.

This will be great for keeping track of our round the world row and should cut down on the duplication of entering meters, eh. I have designated myself as team captain, but if someone else would like to do it, please take over. I look at myself more as the navigator

In order for me to get your name associated with the Eh!Team, I will need your first name, last name and e-mail name that are in your concept2 profile.
Concept2's Instructions

If you want me to associate your name with the Eh!Team virtual row for January (this does not influence our Cross Canada Row), just send me an e-mail, with your first name, last name and e-mail that are in your concept2 profile.

It also looks like we can recruit other team members for this, so John, grab those ducks of yours. It will not affect their ducks in a row team standings.

Thanx hosers,

Jim

Hi everyone,

Dec. 17: 19k on the erg and a PB at the 60 min: 16031 m

Unfortunately, I cannot rank it until I get a validation code from Concept2

We got 30 cm of snow yesterday, so tomorrow I'll be x-country skiing in the Gatineau Park!

Have a nice weekend,

Francois

Impressive pace for an hour. I'm looking forward to you blowing the other boats out of the water at all the other distances . Keep cranking!

You inspired me to push hard today (but for a much shorter period of pain ) I got a new pb on the 500 meter distance by 2.1 seconds 1:33.2 I used the information that you directed me to and did a long, fairly hard warm up. Thanks, I think it helped.

16.5k total

Thanks Jim and John!

Congratulations John for your PB! You are exactly 5 seconds faster than me at the 500m
You will probably also beat me at the 2K, when you get your pacing in order.

Are you following the Wolverine Plan ?

Cheers,

Francois

I'm hoping at some point to be able to get as fast as you on the 2000 (we'll see ), but your 60 minute is very fast, and quite out of my league. You should do very well at the Canadian Championships. We'll be cheering for you!!!
I'm not following the wolverine plan. I'm doing the 2000 meter training plan through row-pro (with longer warm ups/cool downs.) I like the mixture of hard and easy rows, technique and more. I'm also doing a few very slow morning rows. When I'm done with this plan, I'm thinking of doing a modified version of the Pete's Plan. John.

" A true Canadian response!

Great rowin', hosers.

We have passed Quebec City now and we are cruising along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River.
I have not been there for years, but I certainly did enjoy my time there.

Thank you to those of you have sent me your:
First name
Last name
e-mail address.
I really do need this information to add you to the virtual challenge that Brian has mentioned. It looks like this gets around our posting duplication problem also. All you have to do is enter your miles in your log, and as long as you are registered with the virtual Eh!Team, they will be automatically added.

Keep on rowin', hosers.

Jim

Hi everybody,

Congrats to all for the 5 million metres

Well done to John and Francois for their new PB's.

Dec 18th: Total 22km for me.

903m warm up followed by my first erg half marathon (21097m) in 1:29:14.9, so by default a new PB

Apart from a couple of blisters and getting bored I was suprised how easy it was.

Average heart rate was 145 bpm, exactly 70% of MHR. Compare this with my last running half marathon (World Master's in Edmonton July 2005) where I ran 1:29:30, but that hurt and I averaged about 80% of MHR.

I would be interested to know how other ergers/runners compare.

Holiday Challenge: 180,000m
