Ah, the underarm grip - at least I don't do that. You know what? My form isn't always that great - I do at times lapse into opening my knees far too much when coming forwards towards the flywheel and resting arms momentarily on my knees even when doing very hard sessions. There....I've said it. I think the problem is if you haven't adapted to perfect form *all the time* then it may be more efficient for an individual to deviate slightly if that's what they're used to. I think when you re-teach your body to use better form and cut out bad habits, quite often the power for a given effort goes down (not up) initially.

I completely understand. Technique and form takes much time to develop for sure... if i go higher rate then norm, say like 28-30 spm i occasionally break my legs slightly too early on the recovery and the handle brushes against my knees. I'm fine, and feel my form and technique is good for lower spm's than that. I have improved on that though, i don't recall it happening in my last 2k where i was 27-28spm avg.

That is odd, I do that as well. As I do it I wonder why as it's not exactly comfortable.

ebay excelling itself again today. A "Concept2 Model D Indoor Rower With PM5 - Black" from seller "easyprofitgreatdeals" going for £1,093.64 when C2 themselves sell it for £860. Easy profit maybe, great deal I'm not so sure.

Gammmmo wrote:A black D with PM5 went on ebay for £770 (buyer collects) at the weekend!!! Talk about holding value. This is also why I think the black ones are worth gettig because of the strong demand should you wish to sell.

Not found one yet still so looks like that gym membership will have to be renewed for another 3 months...sooner or later the right thing will come up.
Don't waste money on the gym, just go to C2 and buy the damned thing already!

I spent ages deliberating and looking and generally faffing around before coughing up for a new one. That was 10 years ago. Definitely one of my better spending decisions. You know you want to so come on, before you get splinters in your arse from sitting on the fence so long. :D

That^^

For the sake of the extra say £200, some of which would be going on gym fees anyway, just buy a new one.

I would have just contacted the seller and said is it ok if i send a courier to collect for me. Most sellers would be fine with that!

Seems to me, you're never going to find exactly what you want unless you either buy new or book a courier to collect for you.

I dunno. I live fairly near Bristol so anywhere within 2 hrs drive is fair game...sooner or later there will be something.

I could see it happening if you weren't so specific about your requirements!!

I searched for months just to find a decent C2 (wasn't fussed about model, colour, or what PM it came with) 1 showed up local to me in all that time and that was a model C with a PM2+ (missed the auction)

Then i eventually found mine, albeit even that was still at the other end of the country from where i am based. Just so happened i got lucky that the seller offered free courier delivery in with the price.

Prior to buying new, I spent a lot of time looking for local secondhand C2's, I found a few model C's through Gumtree - I set up a search that emailed me results - the one's that hadn't sold instantly were not good value when collection and PM5 upgrade was considered.
If you are in the UK or Europe, here is another option for a new C2, though it does depend on the exchange rate. This is a copy of a post I made last year on the sportservices forum.
I ordered a black Model D with PM5 from Rogue Fitness in Finland. I paid 1056.00 euro including UK VAT, delivery is free to the UK.
I have a bank card that is fee free for international transactions, but unfortunately Rogue Europe are currently using PayPal only and PayPal do the currency conversion and charge 3.5% for GBP/EUR, so that was around £26. However, I paid a total of £772.16 to get a brand new rower delivered to my door. Rogue tell me they are looking at other payment options.
Delivery was via UPS and fully tracked and arrived in perfect condition. I ordered on the evening of Mon 30th Nov and received the rower Tues 8th Dec.
So, I was able to get a floor mat, seat pad & usb lead from C2 UK, a RowPro licence and my rower for £14 more than the UK rower price.
Prior to ordering, I had called C2UK to see if they would at least include the accessories in their price and told them the price I could buy at, but they were unable to offer any kind of deal.
