FS: PM1 monitor
FS: PM1 monitor
I'm currently in the midst of a Model B restoration which included a PM5 retrofit so the PM1 that came with the rower is up for sale/trade. The monitor functions correctly, all the buttons work, and it comes with the bumper (rubber sleeve thingy). Not sure of the value of a PM1, but given the lack of log card/DF functionality anything more than $60 just seems obscene. So yeah, $60 + shipping and you too an row with the same technology that put astronauts in space!

They were a good monitor. The 3 coin cell idea was a pain though. Basically it looks like a calculator inside. It also gave your rating to 1/2 spm which no monitor has done since, they round to the nearest spm now which is very annoying, particularly in the results. No heartrate input either but they were pretty reliable. Got a working one sitting on top of my PC as a bit of a "Museum Piece" reminder. Will probably be worth something one day, I discovered some stuff that I have in my attic from the 1980's that is now selling for big money on E-Bay.

We're both in agreement Carl - it's a solid monitor and any functionality shortcomings can be directly attributed to the fact that this is 80's technology. Figured I'd see if there was any interest in it here before donating it to the Smithsonian.

You're unlikely to get any interest at $60 when that's only 1/3rd of the price of a brand new full-fat PM5. The PM5 comes with thirty years of extra technology and functionality embedded in it. Your PM1 is probably not worth the cost of the batteries that are in it.
The tech in the Apollo program was from best part of thirty years before that. Even their database management system for the parts database was generally available in 1969. Military tech procurement for their computers and control systems would have started way before that.

Fair enough point. It's more of a starting off than "I couldn't possibly go lower than" point. I'd take a trade for a new seat or Model B chain as well, but who just has those things lying around waiting for the opportunity that a PM1 shows up?Citroen wrote:You're unlikely to get any interest at $60 when that's only 1/3rd of the price of a brand new full-fat PM5.
