Great rowin' hosers.

We have made it all the way to Mattawa. Of course we did not do as quick as Big Joe Mufferaw, who in the words of Stompin' Tom Connors:
"Big Joe Mufferaw, paddled up the Ottawa, made it all the way to Mattawa, in just one dayyyyyyyyyy!"

Yup, we are truly in the home of the voyageurs now. They would be proud of us hosers, paddling across the country, eh?

On top of all that, I last checked for addition errors back on Nov 9, but that was almost 2 million kilometers ago!! So we have 17.5 kilometers in hand and I have added that correction to the website and google map.

We are now paddling down along side the Ottawa River.

Keep on rowin',

Jim

16k for me today, some of it strapless doing the 10m/s thing.

I was just surfing the net a bit and found a fun site on Canadian rowing. http://www.rowingcanada.org/en/
Looks good for recent news on what is happening here, especially good during that active rowing season with race results and such. They mention a book "Rowing Faster", looks like it might be a good read. Has anybody checked it out? John.
We could cross the Atlantic and visit our friends in the UK and all Europe. Eventually we would come back, crossing the Pacific Ocean and going across the USA and maybe end the journey in Vermont, at Concept2 head office!

It would be a lot of work to keep track of all the kilometers posted, as many people will join in.

There should also be a "moral" dimension to the journey, like bringing peace, hope and friendship. It would be a great learning and sharing experience!

Just my 2 cents.

Francois
