Yep - it's the Beatles birthday - when I'm 64...and stats are clearly taking a break...but I'll get to them.

Happy Birthday K2!

After taking most of the last month off I think i'm sufficiently rested up for the dog days and rowlympics! Does anyone else find that rowing has a high enough energy demand that it limits other strength training activities?

Image Next up!

Image The Milky Way and Mt Shasta...something 00-Minnie might see from time to time!

There was a blurb on a news program that 80 percent of Americans can no longer see the Milky Way because of light pollution. I am fortunate to be one who can still see this on a regular basis....protect the dark skies!

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations:

1.65 MM Ed
1.1 MM Steve W...those 73 miles made for a whopping amount of meters!

Thanks, everyone, for rowing and ski-erging with us!

Kevin 5,029 m
Tombeur 7,126 m
Norma 7,777 m ...a lucky 7 palindrome!
Virginia 10,000 m
David A 15,019 m
Ed 20,000 m
Mike C 20,000 m
Steve W 117,482 m or 73 miles!

Have a great day! I'm off to explore a new biking/hiking trail opened at Granby Ranch....it's called Nature's Way....sounds like vitamins....or something...snort

Yup. Thor left me completely in the dust. I'm taking some time off. I had a run-in with a glass, and the glass won; 5 stitches in my finger. OK. Wining a bit. But busy with family coming to visit, etc., so it's a good excuse for a few days off. Hope to be back up ergging the end of next week, fit and ready for the August challenges. That first lifetime million is sooooo close!!

Image And so it began....

There are quite a few good points to spending time with the erg...notably you generally don't have to dodge the elements or branches and stuff, the surface doesn't change much, and the you don't have to rely on trail markers...still, the lure of Outside is strong. There were slackers and shredders and a few hikers (two and four footed) on the trail yesterday - you could take the ski lift up (very clever bucket system for the bikes), and just ride downhill. Ha. Nope, slogged uphill and zoomed downhill except for that one batch of trees...hahaha.

Jean M is VERY close to her ONE million, and will surely tackle the remaining 15,965 m (by my calculations) when she's ready! The million meter pin and complimentary Concept2 t-shirt await, so don't forget to let Concept2 know when you reach your milestone. Naturally, we will try to provide fireworks of the virtual variety.

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations:

1.7 MM Ed
150 K Larry
100 K Julian
100 K Matthew M
Image Ed...no matter how many Full Marathons you do, each represents a significant time and effort commitment!

Thanks, everyone, for rowing and ski-erging with us!

Julian 2,406 m
Paul 5,110 ms
Jonathan 6,009 m
Kevin 6,069 m
Larry 9,102 m
Matthew M 10,000 m
Virginia 10,000 m
danwho 11,011 m ...a double aught double palindrome!
David T 12,000 m
Image 12,121 m ...a one and a two and a one and a two and a one....a Welkian palindrome by Shaun!
Mike C 20,000 m
Ed 52,195 m ...full moon plus some extra!

Nailed my 1st 14er this morning, Mt Bierstadt 14065 ft. Part of my training for half dome in yosemite in 1 month. erg meters are suffering this last 6 weeks as I have been doing quite a bit of incline training. Kind of sad though, that it is my 1st 14er and I have lived in Colorado all my life. But I guess it's never too late to start. :) I will be back to full erg training in early Sept. Happy rowing to all.
