Rowan, thanks for your reply. I know I can get one new for £860 delivered from Decathlon too, however I was testing the water (no pun intended) for a second hand one. Despite being quite new they *do* come up for sale. Cheers....

You could try http://indoorsportservices.co.uk/forum/ ... um.php?f=7 but there's so few folks who visit that forum now, you may not even get a view of your post.

You may be waiting a while for a new black Model D, have yet to see one come up for sale over here.

Personally I gave up on buying a used one, the prices were just silly. Another couple of hundred and you get it brand new one in a box AND delivered to your door. There would be no way I would be driving for hours each way to pick one up, especially with the price of petrol in the UK.Have seen savings over here of as little as $500 for a 13 year old rower. Doesn't really matter if it was like new there has been a significant number of improvements with the monitor and the internals of the rower itself, not just a coat of black paint ! The black is really nice, especially as its our national colour when it comes to sports in New Zealand.

I would just keep checking eBay every couple days new listings of C2's are popping up all the time on there.... thats what i did to eventually source mine. Seen a few black model D's with PM5's sell on there for around your price budget, one had only 11k lifetime meters on it. Another sold for £495!!

I got my model E with PM5 from eBay. 2014 model, and only 58k lifetime meters on it! For £630 which also included delivery to me. Took me near 2 months to find a deal like that, and where a seller would deliver, as most are generally pickup only. But i guess like many things patience pays off in the end.

i gave up and bought a new one from amazon (actually a black one with pm5) - the price was 100€ less than the grey one (?)
for 974€ - this was back in July 2015 (wow!!! - 100k short of 5 million meters already :))

the price for second hand was just either too high or would have cost me more in travel money there and back than a new one.

that said - i just seen some in amazon.de for 400€ (3€ P&P)- used...
that is well under your price tag - see if they ship to UK.
seems a decent offer (it says used , but the description says "new")

might have to buy one for the wife :)

Yeah, I know just got to keep checking and hope for a bit of flexibility in terms of location/delivery/meeting halfway. Your deal was a steal though - model E more expensive.

Standard price in the UK seems to be £860 delivered. 400euros seems a bit too good to be true!

I mean even if it means booking a courier to collect it for you, such as DPD for instance, which were who delivered mine the very next morning after buying. (Great Service) If the price of the rower is a fair one, but distance is too far for you to travel.

It can be frustrating looking for sure... it was for me some days haha. I never even set out looking specifically for a model E, i just wanted a decent C2 with low meters and home use owner only!!! Actually missed out on a nice model C local to me, that sold for £290. I missed the bidding auction, i thought it ended on the afternoon when it actually ended on the morning

But everything happens for a reason as the saying goes.. then some time later that model E pops up for sale with a "Buy it Now" price of £630 including delivery, and immediately thought it's a no brainer to buy that, and so i did.

I hope something good turns up for you soon.

Yes, I've seen that one. Still a long, long drive for me - a good ~8hr round trip :( and the guy in question has no car so cannot meet halfway. Thanks very much for your thoughts though.

Just arrange a courier to collect it for you. DPD offer very reasonable quotations for instance. Might cost you 50 quid maybe, but you would most likely spend near that anyway in fuel traveling yourself. You would be getting a good machine (the one you want) and with more than 50 quid in accessories lol.

So is it the responsbility of the vendor or courier to package it up with that service?
