Yes I am alive . I got 1. 5 k. It's been snowing hard recently. We can't get out the door. Help! We tried calling for help, but the only ones who came are some neighbors who laugh thier butts off at us and throw stuff at us Do you know any way to get them to stop?

In case you're wondering, we're not really stuck, Zeb's either been hypnotized by watching snowflakes or it's some kind of teenage thing . John.

Good motoring hosers. We are flying through Manitoba.
If you look on the map to the North of Winnipeg you will see Teulon. And slightly to the north of Teulon, you will see Fraserwood. So what you might ask?

Well this is where my grandfather emigrated to from the United States about 100 years ago. A little piece of family history for ya , eh.

Row on,

Jim

Nov. 10 - 7K, cold getting better.

QUOTE(Yukon John @ Nov 10 2005, 01:12 PM)

Mark, do you use the trigger point therapy only with injuries or is it used also to prevent injuries (i.e. regular use when healthy?)

I only use it when I feel some muscle tension building up, and then I use it as part of my warmup/cooldown routine.

This is the picture of wild barley that I tried to post before; it has been edited.

Nov. 11: 7000m swim and 11500m on the erg.

Nice picture Mark! I like the way you used selective focus. Did you use a macro lens at the largest aperture?

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Francois
I don't know how you can swim so far Francois! I reached a goal today that I've been trying to do for 20 years. I rowed a marathon in under 3 hours. I'm pretty excited (and VERY stiff ) The great thing is that I'm not nearly as hurting as when being done with a running one. It's been a while since I've done one of them but it seemed like it usually took at least a month before full recovery takes place.
So for today 43 k (1k warm up.) Another goal reached earlier this week was getting under 165, now it's time to pig out!

Congrats on the distance, time and weight goals John.

11k for me today hosers.

We went flying past Winnipeg. That was a long haul across the prairies and our longest major segment. Pat yourselves on the back for that one eh.

Our next major segment into Thunder Bay is our shortest at 675 kliks. We should zoom through northern ontario.

Keep those kilometers comin',

Jim

Congratulations John for your marathon! I have never done more than 15K at a time on the erg, so I find your 43K quite amazing!

QUOTE(jetwbt @ Nov 12 2005, 05:29 PM)

November 12th 25K 1:29:01.6 - 1:46.6 average splits.
Francois how long does it take you to swim 7K? That's at least 2 and half hours right there.
-Brian

We did 7K of swimming as various intervals during a two hours workout. If I were to swim a 7K continuously, it would take me around an hour and 35 minutes.

Francois

Brian:
Impressive times on your 2k row! Are you gearing up for a record? I see you all ready hold the record distance for 1 hour.

A mere 10k for me today. I can't stand, I can't walk, but I can sort of sit on the erg and pull the handle

Keep those kilometers coming, hosers.

Jim

Join the thread any time Doug! Thanks for the info. on the mug. I had forgotten that that was available so I used your link. I'll have to decide if it's a beer mug or coffee mug. Of course I could get some Midnight Sun Espresso Stout and cover both bases . John

Hi there one and all,

Today's (12th November) row: 11km

1km warm-up, and 10km UT1 (2:02/500m pace, SPM 22, 75% of MHR)

And my 10km time was a new p.b. for me - 40:39 , knocking 10s off my previous best and at a lot lower heart rate too.

P.S. Jim, I think you have missed my daughter's (CalgaryHolly) 1km she did on Nov 8th. Her message was a little confusing, it was a row not a 1000m swim
