Hahaha! That's one of two Labrador retrievers belonging to the cycle mechanic/owner of Green Mountain Cyclery. He brought his two labs. I literally had no room for dogs due to all I was hauling. That lab was very thirsty - went after the melted ice. Not the best thing to happen / but the water bottles were sealed! Kihei would have loved to have gone.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 6.24.16

Post by Kona2 » June 25th, 2016, 10:47 am

Another fine Saturday, and it promises to be a blue sky day! After completion of the Bike to Work Day festivities, the 3 Goldies have inherited another dog pool to cool off their hoofies (Aerie in pool, Kihei drinking out of it, and Kai waving her plume of a tail as she walks past). Lot of fur.

When the world seems to be in even more turmoil than its usual, sometimes you have to just get back to the basics...like rowing or ski-erging and checking in with your friends (virtual included)!

Way to go, Ed! Another full marathon aka a full moon! No matter how "routine" a distance this can be for some of our ultra distance ergers, it's a major accomplishment. Well done, and keep those meters coming!

Image Baseball can rip your heart out...yet provide great joy as you watch a ball sail past the defender's glove....the Rox won yesterday after three heart-wrenchers in a row. While many may think baseball is boring, I think it's full of drama. It's a summer sports opera.

Awesome moment in a great movie. I'll have to watch it again, sometime this week, to celebrate the summer. With a week of 103 -110 degree temperatures expected, inside activities are better than being outside!

Hi teammates,

Even though not getting the meters In that I usually do because of my work schedule this summer 15 hour days - 6 days a week. I surpassed 32 million lifetime meters tonight. Brought a smile for the accomplishment!

Happy rowing,

Ed

Whoop, whoop and the desert has been good for your meter count! Congratulations, Ed, on achieving yet ANOTHER meter milestone - and fitting that we should have some fireworks to celebrate with at this time of year! We wish you many, MANY more!

It was the kind of storm that makes you say "c'mon kids, let's go to the basement." Just an hour before all was blue sky and sunny...temperatures in the low 90s...and I was happily sitting under a sun umbrella enjoying an end of crazy day beverage. Then, as usually happens, weather popped over the front range mountains and I packed up the umbrella. Big raindrops, followed by hail. Trees were bending. Thunder and lightning. Bigger hail. A small lake was forming on the patio. Some of the plants (the botanic people said "these are native plants"...I think I have native weeds as these are now three feet tall)...tipped over. Aerie and Kai weren't sure what was happening. Me either.
Image
When all was said and done, much of the veggie garden was wiped out. Sigh. Pumpkin plants can't grow without leaves. I'll be doing some replanting I think. Leaf shrapnel everywhere. And so it goes. Of course, the day HAD started with a flat tire! Today is another day...sure to be better!
