As often, hardly responses, people are clueless, this is so impressive. Looks easy, but he has so much explosive power. Is he also a worldclass standing longjumper?

Impressive power for that body type. 1280W
It looks like all of that came from his upper body.
I counted 15 strokes.

The other dude probably did well, right?

Watching his slide travel, I see no mechanical impediment to an adaptive erger classified TA being capable of his time. His neighbor on the next erg is darn near competing with no leg contribution to stroke length--his leg position a stable base against which to lever the hips. Of course that one isn't the "fast" one.

Ofcourse not, all the power comes from and true the legs hips  The legs don,t bend very much, but they sure do. Not that the back/arms are not working hard, but the biggest muscle in the chain always take the main load.

Well I'm half Norwegian, but I don't think my mother passed any of those genes on to me...damn powerful!

Probably not world class, but Norwegian champ at least.
What did the intense guy get for his time on the 100?
Anyone check his time
he tossed his handle away 0.2 s ( ? ) after ridiculously well-coiffed guy did. ( no sarcasm- it`s just from a meme about how good he looks even while doing something strenuous )
By the way, it's a good thing that the holder didn't move any sooner as his lower legs would be busted up from the impact of the handle.

Maybe, he just rowed along to give a sence of racing, hence the sudden stop, if not he also pulled a very strong row.

hjs,
never thought of that. it does make me remember that race in the late 70's or 80's where the pace runner didn't bother dropping out and actually won the event...lol.

.. okay, then I want that guy in my corner if I ever get in a race ! that guy was intense. haircut100 guy slapped him on the shoulder to spur him on and the guy didn't blink. just kept staring at the monitor. the 1000 meter stare.
does anyone have a name for either or both of these two rowers?

Yay?

I couldn't come close to that score no matter what I did, but 100m times just don't impress me. All they prove is that you have a lot of upper body mass and strength. Maybe one day Crash-B's will have a 100m event for those so inclined, then they can revel in the glory while the rest of us 2k'ers go on with our days.

And yes, I get that this is not a rowing forum, it's an erging forum. I know my opinion around here is probably an unpopular one.
PBs: 2k 6:09.0 (2020), 6k 19:38.9 (2020), 10k 33:55.5 (2019), 60' 17,014m (2018), HM 1:13:27.5 (2019)

Old PBs: LP 1:09.9 (~2010), 100m 16.1 (~2010), 500m 1:26.7 (~2010), 1k 3:07.0 (~2010)

Record man is Havard Landsem, 41 187, 97 kg

Looked again, you are right, that other guy looks way to serious for a row along, technique a bit but certainly powerfull. Must have been fast also.

Looked at youtube, there he also pulls a 1.14.0 1 min, rating 42 strokes. Here a full long stroke, with complete leg bend.

Is he really 41 years old?
Those are some good genes.

Why is he using such high foot position in the second video?
I guess it's quicker on the recovery for the 100m sprint, but he wasn't rating that much for the 1min.

Remi, do you know his 2k score?

Its a fitness athlete, on stage, he only sprints on the erg.

Landsem uses the same high heelcup position for both the Norge record 100 and the 500. Not out there to 2k yet but obviously he is able to retain the high foot placement with a full or nearly full stroke.
