When I row, the seat hits the heel of my feet, is this supposed to happen or do I need to change something.

Not in a shell?

I suggest you watch the C2 form/technique video. You must not be doing something properly. Are your feet strapped in or are you rowing strapless?

You should not be going past 90 degrees with your shins/legs on the return, and moving into the catch.

It's in an erg, I'll watch the video and see what it is I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

Hi
When you roll to the catch position, maintain a forward body angle with the upper body. Make sure you support your lower back, avoid a crescent shape small back. The forward body angle originates from hinging at the hip joint.
I hope this helps.
XENO

my coach had that problem, she said it was from over compression when you reach the catch. So reach the wheel with ur back and arms, not by compressing. Your chins should not go over 90 degrees.
