Hot Dog! I feel threatened by your second bullet point, Rohan. :| I don't have much in reserve (rate) for going faster but I will try to keep the strokes strong and use that differential rest strategy.

Had my first outing with this month's CTC. My rest strategy was 30/1.30/30/1.30/30/1.30./1.00. My reasoning was that the focus should be on the 777m hence the longer rest but you need to take advantage of the rolling start on the shorter reps. I can't see that 4 x 1K would be faster than the 8 rep split. Most people are reporting their results are up to 2 secs faster than their 2K split. I do find that remarkable.

Nice one, I don,t see that 2k minus 2, can,t do that in a million years. If you do, you can improve your 2k easily.

nice one Debbie
Not sure I will get much under 2k pace but I did a 2k @1:44 racing on Saturday and a 1:43 CTC early in May so they are close
(although I hope to get sub 1:42 in the 2k in June)

I'm glad you said that Henry. I was surprised I have to say and then I thought that maybe it was just me being a bit feeble. My attempt certainly wasn't an all out affair as I was tired and I was a bit cautious as I wanted to finish. The last 777m was challenging but I had plenty left for the final sprint. If I have time for another shot I would start a bit faster.

1. 3.12.7 / 777m / 2.04.0
2. 0.55.0 / 223m / 2.03.4
3. 3.10.4 / 777m / 2.02.5
4. 0.54.2 / 223m / 2.01.5
5. 3.09.2 / 777m / 2.01.8
6. 0.53.7 / 223m / 2.00.4
7. 3.07.4 / 777m / 2.00.6
8. 0.49.9 / 223m / 1.51.9

Total 16.12.5 / 4000m / 2.01.6

Debbie, I can do 8x500 on min rest, around 2k pace, but that takes 2k race effort. With this 4x a longer 777 thrown in, it only is harder and a bit slower. Looking at the guys on top you also see no real fast ones. 2k minus 2 is really a no go.

Hi Chris

Dear Steve,

I am writing to you as an organiser of the Forum Flyers.
We are organising a new Indoor Rowing event taking place in four cities up and down the country this summer. It’s a brand new concept and is being supported by Invesco Perpetual who are based in Henley on Thames and are sponsors of Leander Club, the events are being held in;

Edinburgh 24th June
Leeds 15th July
Bristol 21st July
Canary Wharf 12th Aug

The events will be held in City Centre, prestigious outdoor venues where we will be using Concept2 machines set on a stage and cool music to motivate the racers !
We are looking to recruit 32 teams (16 Male and 16 Female) each rowing in a knockout format 1km. The winners of each of our events will qualify for the Final shootout being held at the Guildhall in London later in the year in October when we will also be hosting some of the GB Rowers returning from Rio.

I have attached a flyer for you to obtain further information regarding our first event in Edinburgh and also a link to the website http://www.cityregatta.co.uk

We would love the Forum Flyers to participate, it is completely free to enter!

Perhaps we could arrange to speak by phone to discuss more, I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
Matt
