Tomorrow, I'll row at home in Dublin, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, in a finished basement.

Over the weekend, after packing up the erg and the snow skis, we'll be at our ski shack (owned with our best friends) in Ellicottville, New York, near Buffalo, New York, where I erg in the garage or unfinished portion of the basement (depending on temperature). Not as nice of an erging environment as home, but it suffices. We expect the ski area to open Saturday or Sunday, and will be getting in our first runs of this ski season those days, we hope.

See:

http://www.holidayvalley.com/

If you are ever in Columbus, or Ellicottville (Holiday Valley), let me know. You're welcome to join us for food, exercise (ski or erg), or a cold one. Don't forget your Log Card!

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate, and those who don't!

Greetings everyone from Michigan,

Today I got in one more row on the river. The air temperature was 22 degrees F but the water is still fairly warm. It was snowing a little while I was rowing. I used an open water boat and I wore a type I PFD. The water is just starting to get cold, so it's back to the C2 with Xeno and Lucas--great fun, and riding my trike.

I only have one defect as a human being: put a pumpkin pie in front of me and I totally lose control. No matter how much food I've already eaten, I will keep stuffing more pie down my gullet to the point of a stomach ache. Then I will continue eating more pumpkin pie. Well, that means more time on the C2. Thank goodness for the C2, the Holiday Challenge, Xeno's DVD's and all the good training programs out there.

Byron

Happy Thanksgiving weekend from Santa Maria, which is 14 miles from the coast of Central California.

It has been unseasonably warm the past week with a number of days around 80 degrees.

Fortunately it is getting back to normal now.

Cheers!

Just think of those of us in Europe who have to work today and tomorrow.

We're expecting our first snows in Britain (which will knock out a large chunk of our transport infrastructure) over the weekend.

Here in Ohio, just a dusting which has made it quite a pretty sight out the window this morning. I hope to be skiing this weekend, in upstate New York state (opposite side of the state from the City). That's how much snow we're expecting in the region.
