Indeed. I missed giving cheer to these. It's time to test the 500 and 1K soon. Well done Papy and Henry.

Cheers guys, working my way to sub 1.20 one. Not doing muvh sprintwork, judt weights and low rste maintance work. St some point I will try to build a peak, speedwise. Main focus is trying to get stronger, for me there is a strong relation between strenght and my maxpace, which again correlates pretty strong with my 500 s.

Thanks, Hardy & Glenn.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
First ever HM, so PB by default!
Plan going in was 2:15.0 down to 14km to go, 1min break, 2:17.0 down to 7km to go, 1min break, 2:19.0 to the finish which would give a total of 1:38:20 and an average pace (including the breaks) of 2:19.8
My pacing was even but just a hair quicker than scheduled, needed the full minute for the breaks because I was eating as well as drinking (which I'm very pleased I did), ended up about 37 seconds quicker than planned. HR max was 152, which was actually in the second segment, HR max in the third segment was only 146 - so a nice easy UT2er here.

A judicious and practical approach to the first one, Rohan. You'll soon be rolling thru these without breaks for food and possibly even water depending on temperature on the day. Last one I did, a one-handed pull from the bottle en route was all I needed.

Nice 500s Henry and Papy!
Henry, with that 1:19 first 100 - what were you seeing on the third, fourth, fifth pulls from the dead start? Some big power there.

I second that, nice 500's. Good job Papy, more to come. Henry, maybe you'll break 1:20? Nice turn of speed. You might have to jump over to Shawn's sprint thread.
At the other end, nice job getting that HM out of the way Corio.

Cheers E. Thats the idea, my training though is only longer low rate work and weights, so not much usefull for a sprintthread. No stroke below 1.50 or rate above 22Edward4492 wrote:I second that, nice 500's. Good job Papy, more to come. Henry, maybe you'll break 1:20? Nice turn of speed. Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Today, outside, nice weather but erg in the shade, with a shilly notherly wind in my back. Worldwide its warm on average, but over here March and April are cooler then December :
100 119.5/45
200 120.0/45
300 120.5/41
400 121.5/44
500 122.5/51
120.7 pb with 0.3 beating last week. So good, had a moment of doubt with 170 to go, but not really lost pace. Last 100 lost the seat a bit, but don,t think it costed me much if any.

My first all-out effort on a piece:
500m 1.36.7 39spm
Was going along swimmingly at 1.34s then blew up with 130m to go. Terrible scenes.
A nice yardstick anyhow.
