Add my name to the list of those who feel you have a very cute little girl. May you always have much happiness from her.
I also found that the 'whooshing' of the erg was very good at helping the babies fall asleep.
As Paul said you can start erging right away, but always have to be prepared to have to stop in the middle - even a long PB isn't as important as the kid.
I would also add that if she is able to creep or crawl, you might want her in a playpen near you when you row - wouldn't want any little fingers getting caught.

David
I've got the full spectrum of little fingers at home.

The 1 year old, Harrison, used to get parked by momma next to the erg in his bouncy seat. He'd be fast asleep in no time.

The almost 2 year old, Jackson, loves to ask "Whatcha doin?", "Why?", "What's his name" as he looks RowPro, "Why are you counting?" as I lift, and countless other questions....

The newly 4 year old girl, Taylor, likes to watch RowPro, but especially when she's on the machine. She picked out her own pink boat, and likes the pony-tail on the girl.

They all love the old C handle, and will air-row next to me.

When the 4th kid, another boy, comes in December, , I'll still be able to get my workouts in at night, but I'll have to pitch in between 11PM and 1AM on workdays. Dianne's a former jock and wants me to keep in shape. It's a priority in our house. Of course, for now, she's pretty much been pregnant most of the time... We just consider pregnancies to be an interval workout...and I thought 4x1k was hard.

I don't let Harry loose when I'm rowing. The others know to stay away.

My home gym is below Harry's room, and I think I woke him one night with a particularly hard interval where I may have grunted a bit too loud.

I also don't try to do a rowing workout when I'm in charge of the kids. I don't want to get interrupted, so I wait until Dianne's here. Her TV time is 9-11PM which matches my rowing time... With all the cr*p on TV now, I'm happy to be doing something productive.

We're taking it one at a time, but since it will be boys 3, girls 1, Dianne is already talking about #5!!! She is 6', and her brothers are 6'2", 6'2", & 6'4". My brother is 6'6". We'll probably stop with 5... (Her sister is pregnant with #7!!!)

I don't know how you do it, Bill. (Well, obviously I know how you do it, I just don't know how you deal with the results. ) Our son loved the sound of the erg so much that when he was fussy I would sometimes get on and row just to send him to sleep. Worked like a charm. Right now I base my training around his naptimes, he sleeps reliably for an hour so I can get him down, spend 45 minutes on the erg, take a shower and be there when he wakes up. All I know is, as rewarding as it is to chase him around, if I didn't have that bit of time for me and the muscles, I'd go nuts. Of course, when the second one gets here in the Spring, all bets are off.

The third one, outgunned and surrounded...but, they start to play with each other... That's the secret. With enough kids, they become somewhat self-sustaining for an hour or so. That is if they don't start fighting with each other or pee on the couch.

Just read that a strong ssshhhing sound is similar to blood rushing thru the arteries for a child in utero. No surprise then I suppose that babies love the sound of the erg.
