Congrats on that 500, besides raw power, you also lack fitness, rate 29 is very low for such a piece. So there is also lots of room left.
Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
I did it finally under 36 minutes on 10km !
Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
WOW Wrez nice job! congrats You make my 500 look like childs play!
Thanks hjs. Good to know! I know you've been in my other post and agree with your comments as a skinny guy. On the beginners PP ive been doing the long row(week 13) at UT1 and the other moderately long pieces at UT2. THe sprints I sprint.hjs wrote:Congrats on that 500, besides raw power, you also lack fitness, rate 29 is very low for such a piece. So there is also lots of room left.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
It's been a long while since I've done a 'hard' 5k, today's effort = 19:41.2 sr 25. Still lame by this board's standards, but an improvement over the last time I tried.
I've been doing less 10K work and focusing more on faster 5k's as my endurance training for the 1 minute TT I've been trying to sort out. Last attempt at that was 1min = 349m. I hope to break past 350 on my next attempt and will then rest on that as a PR for a while.

thanks g-dub, my next focus will be the 1k -- your time of 3:20 looks like a good goal

Ha! That's my best PB from a percentile standpoint. Not sure how it happened - just sat down and rowed it. I think I thought about doing it five minutes before. I remember even being sort of tired before hand. Haven't done a 1K before or since. The dang thing is about a year old. May 19th. It would be interesting to see if a whole year of training makes a difference. Maybe I'll give it a go next month.

oh-oh, now I've gone and motivated you again. Just forget about that 3:20 G-Dub, it's fine as it is, right? lol, with the super-mileing you've been doing I expect you'll crush it first attempt!! I have a 10k tomorrow, a day of rest and then a run at the 350 1min. Next week I'll make an attempt at 1K and expect it will be a painful and wretched experience!

That is encouraging Henry with enough time for a good/better go at the end of the month.hjs wrote:500m today

Was not in a mood for long work this evening
Annihilated my 500m PB by 4.2 secs down to 1'36.9.
Made me jump from 41st to 61st percentile in my category (my best across the rankings). Good very short day at the office
