I dont want to lose that ability and i think I'd have to choose one or the other. Im not going to manually input my data to the C2 log if I use LiveRowing. Also, I think their price point is too high. Just my 2cents.
s2kohio, Thank you for your feedback. We are looking at integrating to the C2 Logbook now. We know it is important to you and the community. The app is Free for the most part, we would be happy enable a "Premium" on your account so you can test it out. You can build custom workouts, get access to more robust data on the web, and share you custom workouts with Friends -- once you share a workout, they don't have to build it on the PM, LiveRowing programs the workout you build for them with your details enbeded. We ultimately want the app to be FREE all around. The cost of development (many thousands of hours, or about 1 year) is just to keep us running so we can build more features. Let us know if you have questions.
Also, we adding more info everyday to our website. So if there something specific let us know and will get it done.
Thanks again, LiveRowing

They indicated that it will connect via. Bluetooth on the first version so required the PM5. Future versions will have a cable for older models. As for mounting I plan to run on an iPad using the JoyFactory mount. I've had the mount installed for several years and works great. Info at:

How and where do you mount this IPAD mount on the ERG?

I think it's a nice app.
I had some difficulty registering, so I sent an email to their support people. I quickly got a response and they even set up a Premium account for me for one month. Great customer service. When I was able to get into the app, I was impressed. I think the app is well done.
It reminds me a bit of RowPro. Instead of programming your workout on the PM5, you use the phone to do it. They have the well-known challenges (CTC, Concept2) integrated, so you can just check out this month’s CTC and fire it up … wow!
I understand you can row against “friends” (yes – it’s a social app too). Not sure if it’s their virtual rows or if it is a live connection.
There is a button that looks like it will contain upload to C2 logbook functionality in the future. Right now it just opens a browers at the C2 logbook page.
By scanning a QR code, you can set your “affiliation”. I guess that’s a way for Crossfitters to get affiliated with their "box" and load their workout of the day, or something like that.
I did a short row and then stopped. A few seconds later I had an email in my inbox with some summary statistics. You can also see the statistics when you login to your account on liverowing.com. That’s also the place where you can set goals (achieve a number of strokes in the coming two months, or row a 500m under 1:20, or something else that keeps you motivated).
I didn’t find a graph for my row. Perhaps it was too short? Or perhaps it is future functionality?
To my disappointment, there is no possibility to download a TCX or CSV file … I guess they want you to do all your rowing related admin work on their website. Personally, I would like to be able to send data to SportTracks.mobi or Strava. On those places I try to collect all my workouts, including runs and rides.
I like the motivational aspects of it. Challenges. I also like the Affiliation functionality.

I would give up ErgData if this was possible. Upload to Logbook and Garmin Connect is all I want. TCX is close enough. I can convert the CSV to FIT if it has the right fields.

I have the same problem. Tried adding some random people, but they don't respond. There's no way to limit the search based on who is actually using the app. So if I have to row by myself, might as well use ErgData and get the extra data fields on the screen. I can use the PM4's pace boat on the monitor just fine.

So, how about it LiveRowing - will you enable functionality to download TCX or CSV files?

Hi all, anyone using LiveRowing? I'm new to rowing and just recently purchase a Concept2 with PC5 and looking for a program to capture and log my data and perhaps the ability to race against others at times to keep things interesting. I have a background in running as such very familiar with Strava "figured this is the Strava of the rowing world"!
How have users found the app?
Easy of scheduling a race with other users?
I assume PC5 with utilise wifi for conection?
Thanks so much in advance guys!!
Cheers Jade

I like the app. It is pretty easy to use.
It is quite easy to race others.
One of the best things about it, is that you don't really have to schedule a race with anybody else. You just contact them to let them know you want to race. Once one of you rows, you just let the other know. The app records all rows, and when the other person then wants to race they just play back the first rower's race in real time. It's very easy and fun.
I have a PM5, and use bluetooth to connect.

Hi David, thanks so much for your reply, going to purchase the app and have a look!!
Then progress to setting up a RowPro as cordless as possible, guess that's my attraction to LiveRowing, the fact that it's IOS and blue tooth compatible with PM5 "no cables"!!
Appreciate your response!
Cheers mate

Get RowPro, its the only thing your going to find with others online.
Its been going for like 10 years and still doesn't have enough online users so there is next to no chance another App is going to come along that you can connect at any time 24/7 and find others to row with.
Online rowing appeals to a VERY SMALL percentage of users and its mainly due to psychological reasons, I will leave it to you to work them out for yourself, its not that hard you don't need to be a psychologist.

I'm going to pre-order the cable for a PM3 at the gym that I use. I just got an upgrade on my cell phone. Had an I-Phone 4 (not an "S") forever. It was the last version that was the "cut off" for working with LiveRowing. I like the idea for those of us that use the C2 at the gym of having an app. To Carl's comments above, if you own a C2, it's not an issue to hook up a computer. If you're working out at a gym, the LiveRowing seems to be much better for that use. I also like the idea that I could race in either real time or like David said above, with a live person where their data has been recorded. I don't know, that seems more appealing than phantom boat racing with the PM3. I think once the cable comes out (and Android hopefully), a lot more people will be using this app.
