Healthy Habits Group?
I'd like to pop on over here too if I may
I just posted under the introduce ourselves thread if anyone is interested in reading.
My goal is really to keep up exercising and eventually get back into shape. It seems I have a hard time with diet and exercise. I can do one or the other but both throws me for a loop it would seem. Usually exercise gets the better of me, but I think I'm doing well enough that I'll start throwing some healthier eating choices in this week as well.

I'm in.....
So I've been wavering on my healthy bandwagon, but am trying to get at least a little excercise in, and pack my lunch. Only did 15 minute row today, but my allergies are acting up pretty badly. Planning on doing some hand weights and crunches in a bit.

Almost forgot....
I passed 400,000 meters today! I'm slow, but i'm still making some progress!
Slow and steady won the race! You might feel like a tortise but every little bit helps. GREAT job with 400,000 meter mark passed.
Sorry to hear about the allergies!
Remember we are making lifetime changes a bit at a time. Great job packing lunch!
My daughter is studying the food pyramid at school so my hubby and I are challenged to eat more fruit and veggies during the day so we don't look so bad when comparing our food with our daughter!

Susan: Those kids will get you in trouble every time! My grand daughter is the one who calls us on the carpet - why does Grandpa smoke now when he didn't used to?? Try explaining THAT to a very smart 13 yr old learning to "Just say NO"!
Things are looking up for me - I'm getting back in the exercise mode now that it seems the weather has started to cooperate. I've recovered from my vacation in early March, and the scales are showing it - finally!
Hope all the Ducks are doing well and quacking along with whatever works for each one!

another day.....another meter!
So I got in a 35 minute row of 6,029 meters. Not too bad. Tried to keep the snacking at bay today, i'd say i was 80 percent successful!
Snappy--that was quite a few meters. Well done.
I "need" to crunch sometimes. I allow myself all the mini carrots I want to eat. i get tired of chewing before too long.
Catherine--Glad to hear your encouraging news.
Now that the weather is nice I am tempted to take the erg out on the deck! It came out of solitary confinement in the basement ages ago when our dishwasher broke and my hubby had to do some pluming in the basement ceiling.... Well, that is done but the ceiling is not repaired yet. SO I am enjoying erging in the living room with a view outside... the next step... to move outside.... Hee Hee. I have found the erg is not that hard to move a piece at a time. Now that it is upstairs it wanders into the family room to watch TV but it isn't allowed to live there.
When the weather gets hot, I'll be glad to be back in the basement but until then the adventure continues.....

Hi Everybody!
I hope all is well with everyone.
I know what you all mean about your kids keeping you in line. My children are still very young...but much of my motivation comes from wanting to set a good example for them. My 2 1/2 yo is already too interested in eating M&M's and french fries. We don't keep the stuff in the house at all, but I do allow her to have her treats when we are out and about. I don't believe in totally restricting her from eating for pleasure. I hope that she will learn moderation earlier in life than I did.
400,000 meters is great! You are almost halfway to your million.
For people who have already made their first million...How long did it take you? I started rowing at the beginning of February this year. It is fun to watch that number grow.
I am very glad to be headache free. I don't know if I mentioned it before, but I have been doing WW to lose some weight. I have recently made lifetime, but have a personal goal to lose some more. My losses have slowed considerably as I get closer and closer to a reasonable weight for me. I am really working on making lifestyle changes that I can live with, and hope that the weight continues to creep down.

My first million took me one year and 4 months.
I did the HC the first year then stopped had surgery etc. Started again in October 05 and really got serious at the next HC and have been going ever since.
My second million will be? 6-9 months? We'll see!

I've gotten all fired up to post today after some verbal sparring over on the osteoporosis thread, so I guess I'll jump in here, too.
You all are very inspiring, so I'll share some of my own goals with the hope of having to be accountable. I'm primarily a runner who does erging for cross-training, and I've recently signed up for my 9th marathon. It will be the first I've done in several years, though, and the first since gaining more pounds than I want to think about.
My plan is to start from my current running level and gradually add miles and a little speed training to be ready for the marathon in November. Right now I'm running 3-4 times a week, and my intention is to row on my non-running days. I've also been watching my diet carefully: smaller portions, more fruits and veggies, etc. I've also started an Irish dance class once a week, and I'd like to make some time each day to practice-- also great aerobic exercise.
If all of that doesn't accomplish the weight loss I want, I may need to start rowing every day. I'd like to lose 25-30 pounds to get back to where I was several years ago.
All of that makes me tired just to think about it, so I should stop thinking and go do it.
Go, Ducks! (and related birds)

took the day off today, but on Saturday I'm planning on a nice long row. Going to set up in front of the tube and just see where it takes me. No pressure to get it done before getting the kids where they need to be, no worries about getting ready for work, no thinking about what I "should" be doing...
Might have one issue though... kids bugging me to have their turns... maybe I'll let them go first (but don't think that'll help)

I really like your "exercise ticker". I assume it's available at tickerfactory.com.
It's storming outside here in Oklahoma, so looks like I should stay off the track unless I want to invite a lightning strike. That means I get to go home and haul out the erg!
