Here's a link about the medicating of America, often having the reverse affect of causing uncontrollable violence.

http://www.holisticjunction.com/display ... fm?ID=3526

Scary stuff right out of "1984" by George Orwell.
To be fair, I dutifully downloaded and read this article. It's a fairly straightforward report of large pharmaceutical companies seeking political influence to have their branded drugs used (rather than generics) in a Pennsytlvania mental health program. A discontinued investigation suggested that trips, perks, etc. had been provided to state employees by pharmaceutical companies.

It says nothing about prescribed drugs causing uncontrollable violence.

It is correct, however, that George Orwell wrote 1984.

I've been following this topic and trying to stay out of what seems to be an endless and nonsensical discussion, but I just CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! I have decided to take time out from my busy day of being an OB/Gyn "quack" to add my two cents.

Let's see, where does one start? Let's get away from quoting worthless websites and have a little personal input. In just the last few months I've seen the following examples of effects of my "quackery":

1. At least three women saved from certain death due to cancers which were discovered in my office.
2. A mother saved from probable death from liver failure and lack of blood clotting ability (I know I'm using some technical words here, John, but please try to keep up) by the early delivery of her now healthy child.
3. Multiple women relieved of pain from conditions they DID NOT bring upon themselves.
4. Untold numbers of unwanted pregnancies prevented.

I could go on, but I would assume that you've already closed your mind.

What angers me the most is your universal criticism of a profession which you obviously know nothing about. How dare you assume that I would ever harm or fail to do my very best for my patients? Seems like you must have had a bad experience in the past which has addled your brains. Were you possibly delivered by a doctor who slapped your backside a little too hard?

John, you claim to be a life coach.

see this

So get your life coached , you have pieces missing.

missing or not found or not there or not much info

Maybe you should spend more time getting this sorted out.

Regards,
Misfit.

Ignore Male Trolls in the Women's Forum!

Me too! I came to this thread to think about serious issues. I just got (by mail) a new diagnosis of osteopenia, but with this loudmouth, blowhard, ignorant "know-it-all" blasting off, it's hard to get good useful information, or even dare to ask questions.

(John, if you're reading this, this thread is in the Women's Forum (instead of the "Health & Fitness" forum) so that it could be a discussion among women. My understanding is you don't qualify. Get out! If you want to discuss osteoporosis or bone strength or diet or your disdain for the medical profession, take it out the the Health & Fitness forum and post there, please. I'd use an "ignore user" function on you if there were one--consider yourself ignored from here on out.)

My suggestion in the meantime, is that we all simply ignore his posts as if they weren't there--since they shouldn't be. There have been 3 separate pleas to C2 to enable an "ignore user" function--two of them in separate threads ("FAQ-Ignore Setting?", and Forum use, comments and suggestions--Please give us an "Ignore User" Feature!"). Maybe we should all post in support of those.
Ignore Trolls! Until we have an "Ignore User" function, just pretend the posts aren't there...

Just to correct a couple of gross mis-preconceptions:

I'm not a "he". Why assume that a doctor posting on a women's forum is male?

Those "untold number" of births prevented were due to contraceptives, not abortions. That's why I can't give a number-- who can count potential events?

The rest of your highly offensive assertions don't even deserve specific replies.

Most medical doctors are males.

The average life span of a medical doctor is 55 years, the same as for American football players.

Jane Brody's "Personal Health" column...

Post by Alissa » April 6th, 2006, 6:09 pm

I'm waiting to hear the results of a baseline DEXA scan myself, so I've been doing a bit of reading...

When I was doing some looking around, I found Jane Brody's take on "Plotting to Save the Structure of Those Aging Bones" in her NYTimes Personal Health column.

It seemed to me that it addressed some of the issues surrounding osteoporosis and osteopenia...I'd be interested in the views of our medical cohort on her column.

Any other suggestions for directed reading (I've pulled some of the materials already mentioned here...)?

Thanks!

Alissa

Let's see, you mistreated and mutilated at least three women ...
The post that began as abbreviated above, is the single most offensive thing I've read on this site. And punctuated with cartoon faces, no less.

I was wrong to think you the figure of mockery and easy laughs that you're seen as by most of the people who post here; you're a vile and quite vicious human being.
