Eight years is a long time. You certainly deserve a break. Your tallying, cheerleading, and entertaining with bunny trails is very much appreciated.Kona2 wrote:Teammates -
I am taking a break for a few days. In fact, if another person would like to take on the astrogator reins, I am glad to relinquish them. I have been doing this for eight years, and find that I do not have time each day to do a proper job of it - no matter how much automation occurs.
Best regards,

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I'll take a whack at doing some stats while K2 takes a little break.
But I know the
beats strong in this astrogator,
and the overwhelm will soon fade away.
On the othe hand, pay no attention to advice on breaks
from this man.
And speaking of astrogators, I finally saw The Martian last night.
Now I am ready for anything ... not.
First problem to solve: what to do with this surplus of potatoes.
Anyone up for some Watney curly fries?
Okay, let's do this.
Welcome back to Caesar.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Unfortunately, C2's new web design makes it a little too hard to
pull out our teammates' contributions to the Valentine's Challenge.
So, we'll just leave it with a simple Happy Valentine's Day !!!
What?! You don't tie people up for Valentine's Day?!
At least, there's rowing in it.
And we're about halfway through a heated Military Challenge, a little less than halfway
as the challenge is leap-enhanced this year. The top 5 branches are:
1. U.S. Navy ... 112 ... 6,743,051m
2. U.S. Army ... 140 ... 5,872,641m
3. U.S. Air Force ... 83 ... 3,645,566m
4. British Army ... 49 ... 2,529,812m
5. U.S. Marines ... 54 ... 2,122,603m
Welcome, Paul Robertson !!

Thank you for the stats, danbi-wan; I'm sure that no-one else looks at my numbers but, it's the first thing I do in the morning ... "oh, look, my log book matches our astrogator's stats. All's well on my planet."
And, meanwhile, off-planet ... how about that Martian, hey? I haven't seen the movie yet (Netflix is on notice; if they don't send it this week, I'm cancelling my membership and streaming from Amazon.) but, I really enjoyed the book. I thought it was going to end very differently. Freeze dried potatoes, and all.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Thanks. About that Martian, I really enjoyed that movie. That level of resourcefulness in a desparate situation was amazine to watch. But I didn't read the book. With that kind of a story, there's bound to be disappointment over what couldn't fit into or work in a movie. But I was impressed - with the story, and with other aspects of the movie. I wasn't sure if a curly fries visual might have drawn groans, considering how those potatoes came into existence. If so, I beg for forgiveness.just27 wrote:danwho wrote:And speaking of astrogators, I finally saw The Martian last night. Now I am ready for anything ... not.

BTW, I rented my copy from Redbox. If there are Redbox kiosks near you, I find that new rentals can be obtained pretty easily from them, and the price is right. The only downside is that certain distributors successfully managed to hold back some rentals from kiosk distribution. Streaming is probably the best way to go, but for now, this works for me.
